    - No such interface supported Whenever I try to capture video Move Maker displays a dialog box that says "no such interface supported". When I click Ok it dismisses the Capture Video form so I can't even change the interface to try and correct the error. So, I can't capture video. It happens every time I try to capture video.     - Edit with JVCEverlo G Series GZ-MG275 Hard Disk Camcorder Our primary (elementary)school has just purchased a JVCEverlo G Series GZ-MG275 Hard Disk Camcorder.     - How do I add a .srt subtitle file to a movie? Hi. I am trying to create a project so I can burn a video clip with subtitles to a dvd. Do I use Movie Maker? If so, then how do I add the .srt file properly to burn the dvd with the subtitles? I tried to drag and drop the .srt file into the project, but I receive an error message stating I am missing a necessary codec. What codec do I need, how do I download and install and use it?     - After SP2, still have MM 2.0 I have windows xp sp 2 with all latest updates, but my Movie Maker is version 2.0.3312.0. I did a search for moviemk.exe which i believe is 2.1, but it is not on my hard drive. I think this happened because I did not realize 2.1 was already on my computer, and download 2.0, so maybe it overwrote 2.1? not sure... So, how do I get MM 2.1? Can I download it seperately?     - Help - PS3 & MM - poor quality Just used PS3 for the first time and find it's great. Here's my problem. I am making an 8 min or so movie for work. I started with PS3 using 81 photos while an mp3 is playing. The preview and saved file works perfectly. This is 4 mins of the 8 mins. I need. I then imported this wmv into MM to add other clips and pictures. Before I did any other additions, I saved this as a movie in MM to view it. The problem is it runs choppy with the zoom effects very poor. I have been making mini movies each year for awhile. In the past I end up adding the movie file into powerpoint. This year I am being more creative and find it will be impossible to add to PP and intend to burn the final production to a DVD. What solutions are there to add to the PS3 imported wmv into MM while adding the remaining 4 mins of clips I need and saving as a smooth movie to burn? Or am I asking too much from the software?     - Movie Maker lost the abiliy to capture in DV-AVI from a camcorder Windows Movie Maker has lost the ability to capture video from a DV camcorder in DV-AVI format. The DV-AVI selection is now grayed out and not available. It worked when last used about 1 month ago. Rebooting windows does not help. Windows automatic update is on. Movie maker automatic codec download was off. I turned on automatic codec download and imported an AVI video file on the computer without fixing the problem although from the wait before starting the import I suspect a new codec was loaded. The operating system version is Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1 service pack 2. Movie Maker is version 2.1.     - TITLES and CREDITS One Problem I have is. I have a problem dropping text to be overlayed on a video in the exact spot I need it. I drag it with my mose and it will put it at (lets just choose a number) at 1:00:30 or it will let me put it at 1:01:07. Is this a function of my mouse not being sensitive enough? Is there anyway to drop it more exactly? Also I remain dissatisfied (as much as you can be with a free program) with the choice of title and credit placement. is there a link to somewhere that has better title placement?     - Problem getting error writing video file My son is trying to save a video to file and keeps getting an error that really doesn't make sense. This error occurs sometime even before it tries to write the files, and at other times, it writes the file 10% of the way, then gives the error. The error message indicates there are are 3 possible problems: 1. There is not enough disk space. 2. The source files are missing. 3. The destination where the file is being written to is no longer available. None of these 3 conditions are true. The hard drive has 44GB of space, and the size of the video file we are trying to save would be about 10MB. We have also tried writing the file to a SD card just to test this situation, but we get the same error. We are able to play the actual video through within Movie Maker itself, which I am assuming means that the source files are avialable. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue? Whenever I try to burn the movie to a dvd, one of the two tracks is burned with the video. However, I prefer to have the other audio track burned with the video onto the dvd.     - Movie Maker Error on Opening I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 and every time I open Movie Maker, an error box pops up and I have clicked Debug and Send Error Report but it always closes Movie Maker and I am not able to use Movie Maker. Has anyone else had this problem? I guess Movie Maker downloaded years ago when I got SP2 and I have just recently tried to use it. I do have all my updates. Thank you.     - intercutting stills and video Id like to show a clip one minute long. In the middle 20 seconds id like to insert a few pictures then come back to the clip.     - video playback choppy after capture i have been using mm for a few years and have hours of footage loaded from my camera. on occassion though, after capturing, the video plays choppy, almost as though it is stop action - kinda of a frame-frame-stop, frame-frame-stop hiccup. there seems no consistant reason. it will do that for a few days then work fine for months. this time, however, it's not returning to fine. i am capturing to a free 200gb disc, turned off all virus and spy ware as well as all obvious background programs. help!!!!     - How to " select it all " and put it in the timeline ? I can select all pictures at the top level ( like in the WDW collection), but each and every video needs to be dragged so I have to scroll all the way up - to the left - select it. then drag it to the lower right ,etc. Is there ANY way to speed that up ? After spending an hour or two getting all the pictures,videos from a recent trip into Collections in WMM, I have " East Coast Trip" and under it " Florida" then in that I have - WDW - Miami - Keys etc then GA --Savannah --Hilton Head then SC Charleston , etc ( so "left screen" is now less messy) what I'd like to do is: click on "East Coast Trip" "Select All" and drag it to the timeline.     - How big will output file be ? My objective is to record all vacation pictures and video onto one DVD : 1. While creating a project and dragging/dropping pictures/video in there ( A LOT), how can/would I know how big the wmv fiile will be ? In less than 4gb fine , but I do NOT want to click on " Create Moive" and have it take 12 hours to produce a file that is 6.1gb as it will then be too big for one DVD.     - Saving project and reloading on another PC I am working on a project on two different computers. I imported the video clips, edited as necessary till I was partially done. I then saved my project. Later, on the second computer, I reloaded my project and my timeline shows the clips, but with red Xs.I am accessing the same resource on both PCs, that is, all the imported clips and files are available to both projects. One difference is that the reource maps to drive E: on one PC and to drive F: on the other. What is the best way to solve this?     - No ability to save to a DVD ?. Having trouble signing in, after I repeatadly click save my username and password when Icome back it's blank, now to post a new question it goes in a circle ?, I spent the last 2 days buying and running Reg/Cure and Spybotware then bought Roxio 10 and installed it but, WMM still only says save to Cd not DVD also, I looked at the compatability list and there is no Roxio there, three say Nero and a bunch of others. Is ther anyway to reinstall Movie Maker 2.1, My comp says it's there as well as SP2, I can do it on my laptop, but not my desktop, this is maddening, could someone please help.     - Find lost untitled project or recover yesterdays work?? Is there any way to find an untitled project - other than basic stuff? I have spent 15 hours on a project that I can not find. It was saved and re-opened many times. I started this project a couple days ago, every time moviemaker froze and I had to close it, when I opened it again it would say searching for.... and my project would come up. I even hit the save button a couple times, but never named it - Because it was fine and I wasn't done. This morning when I opened it and worked on it and it did its freeze thing and I closed and re-opened it - it was fine. Then after a couple times of that, when it opened - it opened the last NAMED project I was working on. The named project was the end part of the new untitled project. I have used searched, used restore then un-did restore, read 50 websites, read help here.. I have looked everywhere.     - quicktime mov to avi to WMV . WMP plays them fine but WMM still says bad codec New camera output = .mov files. I didn't know QT rather than AVI until I used it on vacation and since I bought it at CompUSA and they went out of business - I own the problem. Currently: I used Total Video Converter to get into AVI format and Windows Media player opens the avi files fine. YET, when I now try to add them to a WMM project the message says " cannot find codec to PLAY file ...". I have the "autocheck for codec" box checked. So this "codec that it 'looks for'" has to be at at certain site at microsoft.com ?? How would I know what it "knows about" and how would I specify which to use ? Would like to fimd out how others with same situation handle it. Rather than reinventing the wheel, any recommendations of .mov to .wmv converter. I went to avi thinking - that works fine, until now when - after converting 30-40 mov files to avi , NOW finding out that I wasted my time.     - Scrolling text goes black during DVD playback I've made a movie, using Movie Maker 2, where one section near the middle has a title block with a narative running as scrolling text (like the Star Wars intro.) This scrolling text runs fine on the computer during playback. Movie is then saved and burned to a DVD using Nero software. The DVD plays fine in other players until the scrolling text is reached. The screen goes blank after a few seconds of showing the text and, as soon as the text shot is finished, the remainder of the movie plays fine.     - wrong size of video after it's saved i make videos while i play world of warcraft, using Fraps. i got an unregistered version so the video clips only last for 30 - 60 seconds. when i import a clip to windows movie maker, and press play and then press fullscreen (in the "preview" window) to see if the quality and size is the same, the quality and size is what it's supposed to be, meaning fullscreen and good quality, but then when i drag the clip down in the "blue area" / or editing area, for adding effects and etc, the size and quality minizes to half-size, so my question is, why is this happening, and how do i keep it full-sized/fullscreen? i hope somebody understand this post Tag: mswmm to mpeg Tag: 65237

    - Unable to burn CD, copy to computer, or send to e-mail. I have completed a movie. It is 20 minutes long, with a lot of pictures, and songs. It is a graduation video. However, after spending a lot of time on it, I am now unable to burn it to a CD, copy it to my computer or send it to an e-mail. I have even tried to copy it to a jump drive, but anytime I try anything it locks up immediately. As soon as I click "Save to CD" the program locks up. Does anyone have any suggestions? -- S.     - Error's upon opening. I am running into an issue that I need some help with. Im wanting to start using windows movie maker to see what kind of editing i can do with it.     - How Do I recover DVD option I have been making and burning movie's to DVD for months now and all of a sudden I lost the option to burn to DVD WHY ?. I have ver. 5.1 (build 2600.xpsp_sp2_qdr.070227-2254 service pack 2 on Win/XP home edition. I know it's no longer a standalone program, it's part of service pack 2 but everytime I try to reinstall service pack 2 it says already installed, So what can I do ?.     - frame by frame advance won't work I have used Movie Maker for 2 years with no problems. For our business we need to be able to import a video and then frame by frame advance until we get to a specific frame then we take a picture of that frame then put that picture on our website. It has worked perfectly until now. We can only advance frame once then it stops advancing. When a TV program is recorded from Windows Media Center the recorded video has the file format [name.dvr-ms] I can open and play these dvr-ms files with Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, Nero Showtime etc. but if I try to import a dvr-ms file into Windows Movie Maker I always get the error message "File could not be imported.     - Files in a Movie Maker project that will not burn Are there any files that can be used without issue in Windows Movie Maker but that won't burn onto a DVD? I've made a movie using different pictures and video clips and been able to save it as a WMV file and convert it to an MPEG file, but I can't get it to burn onto a DVD. I've been using DVD-R disks and tried on a couple of different computers with DVD burners (both PCs and Macs). On one it appeared to burn completely but the disk didn't work on 2 different DVD players or 2 different computers; another one failed at burning in the beginning. Now I'm wondering if the problem could either be a .gif file that I have in the beginning (do these burn onto DVDs?) or I was wondering if I mistakenly used a song or movie clip that is potentially copyrighted that I got from the internet, would that mess up the burn? To make an MPEG you could make your wmv file, then use the free Super program
from eRightSoft (Google it) to convert it ot MPEG. It might take a while.

Just remember, MSWMM files have no video in them, just information on what
videos to include.
