I have imported a video I recorded onto a DVD, then onto the computer. The
DVD show is about 35 minutes total and I want to get a 45-second segment off
this DVD to save as a file separately so I can upload that 45-second file to
my website. I "imported" the dvd file into MM2 and it created a bunch of
"clips". However the clip thumbnail images are "reversed" (backwards or
upside down). How can I change this? Also, there is no audio but the DVD did
have audio. I dragged 3 clips onto the timeline as those 3 are the ones I
want, but like I said, the clip images are upside down/reversed and no audio.
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

How exactly did you go about "importing" the DVD into Movie Maker?

I believe I did it in the Import Into Collections, then it asked for the file
location and I imported the .mpg file which is the full 33minute video file
and is 2.2gb size. It took about 30+ minutes to "import", even though Im on
cable modem.

The MPG files are almost certainly where the problem is.
Movie Maker doesn't work well with MPG's and especially not with MPEG2 so it
is best to convert them to AVI or WMV before importing into WMM.

can you recommend a free download or trial version that will convert the
mpeg2 file to avi or something else? the videocleaner doesnt support mpeg2.
Thanks.

I d/l TMPGEnc but again, it wont convert or allow me to edit my file, which
is .mpg (but mpeg2). Ive tried videocleaner, tmpgenc, win avi video converte
and dvd shrink. none will let me edit/convert/import the .mpg (mpeg2) file. I
was able to edit my huge file using roxio easy media creator 7, and created a
56 second edited clip of what I want, but now the audio is about 2 seconds
off from the video. Thats the best I could do so far.
