wmm keeps crashing please help

i use windows movie all the time ive made videos from 1 minute long all the
way up to 2 hours long, however recently the programme always crashes if i
put more then 4 minutes of footage on the timeline and sometimes when adding
music and transitions to footage around one minute in length when it crashes
no error message appears it just simply closes the programme as if i had
clicked on the X in the top right corner. i appreciate any help thanks

I have a similar problem. If I add any more than 7 pictures in the timeline,
Movie maker dissappears immediately
