    - Plugin Adaptor crashes WMM2 when starting up! Ok, I just updated to windows SP2 and got WMM2. I launch the program and as soon as it loads up it starts loading plugins through PluginAdaptor. It gets to this one file and it gets and error, I click ok and it keeps running through programs in the c drive I think.. then it gets to one and the program closes immediatly. If I try to click on anything it goes into the "Not Responding" state. and help please? It works fine on my laptop but this desktop computer it loads those plugins.     - Compressor, which one to use ? I have just used for the first time RAD video to convert from mov to avi. I converted the file into a MEPG4 and the new file has a wmv file extension. This does not present a problem as far as I can tell because I can now play with it in MM2. The question I have is after I select to convert to avi how do I pick which compressor to use ?     - Handycam DCR-DVD103 I have Handycam DCR-DVD103 camera. I download the recored MPEG from the camera to the hard drive (HD) through the USB prt using the picture package software that came with camera. Then, I import video from the HD. The problem arise after editing 5-7 clips where the prgram stop responding or shut down spontanouesly. Also if i do noe editing at all and try to save 30 minute movie, it takes very long times 8-9 hours and also the program close befor it complete the mission.     - too many programs similar, how to do..... I have used WMP2 to more or less create slide show with transitions etc. It only has maybe 15 slides, no audio yet, not been burned to CD after saving to HD... I now find that it CANT be be read/seen on a CD (or DVD?) standalone machine used with TV, hence cant show this thing on a TV? NOW I have fine, photos, scans etc, and text for these, but they are isolated to the computer world at present?     - Audio drop out when rendering back to DV cam (only) Having completed movie, when sending back to DV camera (via firewire) audio occasionally drops out (goes silent) for a fraction of a second. Particularly noticable if using an over dubbed music audio track and often the drop out is the overlay track not the audio with the video, thus I assume the Camera is responding OK. (No problems when saving to other file format eg video CD). Does not seem to be related to how hard the PC is working, ie lots of transitions cross fades or few and having checked processor use, seems like it never gets above 47% use during render. Also does not always happen in the same place every time but more often than not; on occasion it does not drop out but buzzes like a hung stopped note for a fraction of a sec Tends to happen two or three times within the first minute then is OK for the rest of the movie. (Not running fat 32 and have turned off quite a lot of background running progs eg internet firewall Spybot etc.) PC spec is 2.6 Althlon, 1G of RAM, 200G HD useable, movie lengths around 8 mins!     - Date and time (again) Hello. I asked about how to get time and date with my filmclips yesterday and got some good tips (thanks to PapaJohn and Graham Hughes). None of them to my satisfaction though. The problem: To get time and date showing in the lower right corner (or someplace else, of course...) of my home movies. The help i got: 1) To make my camcorder to embed the info so it would turn up automaticly. I didn't manage that. 2) To download software to fix my problem. Downloaded DVDate.     - Burning .mswmm file to DVD I have created a movie with pictures, music, and banners in Movie Maker 5.1. The file extension it is saved under is ".mswmm". However, I can't burn it to CD or DVD. When I try to burn it to CD it will burn only about half of the pictures, some of the banners, and all the music. I think the point is to put clips into the Storyboard and when you are happy with the sequence to make a movie from the storyboard. I tried that and it seemed to duplicate the movie I started with.     - Colors too intense? Incorrect Gamma? (and sound issue) I am a newbie to WMM2, but an advanced digital photographer who understands ICC color profiles, etc. quite well. I am using a fully color managed environment, including monitor profile. Here is my problem: I am making a movie out of still photos. These were shot in either sRGB or AdobeRGB color space, converted to sRGB (with an sRGB working space) in Photoshop, and either "saved for web" from PS with no profile, or saved with the sRGB profile assigned. They look great in non-color managed programs such as Irfanview, or a web browser. So far so good. In WMM2 they look great. The movie plays perfectly in WMM2 and colors are great. When I save the movie on my desktop and play it on my computer the colors are way too intense - people are too red, and all colors are too intense. It is the same in Windows Media and a Creative Player (haven't tried anything else). The video settings are default in WMP. If I increase brightness and contrast they look like I expect them. I have tried them on another computer and they look like they should. However, I am planning on sending them out to dozens of people, and I am afraid they will look horrible on a percentage of the computers. I have searched and searched for any color management in either WMM2 or WMP, or some setting. I am saving these movies under optimized settings, not as compressed. The photo files are 600 X 400 pixels. On another issue - on my work laptop the movie looks good, but the WMA soundtrack is halting throughout. Help, please. It worked at least part way through the capture wizard the first time but now it pops up this error immediately every time. What has not worked is closing and restarting WMM, rebooting, turning off the power to the Sony DCR-VX2100 NTSC for a dozen seconds, switching to a different camera (Sony DCR-PC120 BT). It seems obvious to me that there is some state information on the disc that is causing WMM to fail. Next steps: trying a different cable and then uninstalling/reinstalling WMM. Despite all my efforts, the DV AVI files play in Media Player without sound (it requests a codec and fails to get it). It plays fine in Movie Maker but without sound in anything else. I am trying to create a slideshow with music. When I import jpeg images to
the storyboard/timeline and play an image alone, the image quality is
perfect. The problem occurs when I play the entire storyboard/timeline with
multiple jpeg images. The images become distorted and the pixels become
enlarged. Please help!

Some people have trouble with Jpegs, try a short test using bitmaps of the
same picutres and see if that sorts the problem.
