I am having difficulty importing video clips from my olympus digital camera.
it seems to import them onto my computer as MOV files which are not
recognised by Movie Maker - does anyone know how to convert them to a format
that will work?

Check out this website:
http://www.videohelp.com/convert
They can show you how to convert from and to just about anything as well as
telling you which program(s) to download that will do it.

start with your input file... how high is it's quality?

video taken by still cameras are usually low or medium quality... there are
often quality choices in the camera menu.

===============================
.mov is the QuickTime format. You may
have better success if you use the QuickTime
software for the conversion. Only problem is...
you'll need the pay version.
