Help! I can't save my movie!
I've been working on this christmas gift slide show-like movie and when I go
to save it to a cd it says I should check the space in the cd, make sure all
my sources are there, and see if there's a big enough file to keep it in. I
know my movie can fit in the cd and I've tried everything I know to "check my
source files." I really need to get this movie burned before Christmas-can
anybody help me?? I did use a lot of scanned pictures..if that's of any use.

Then when I go to clikc out, an error pops up, saying something about a

WrongColorsInVideoPlayback
Hi,
I've used MM 2 successfully on a few home projects. Recently, I've run into
problems with video playback/review. The color quality is overblown with
green and yellow hues. I'm not sure, but this color change may have occurred
about the time I installed multiple softwares for HP photosmart photo
printer, MGI photosuite 4 for a vivitar digital camera, and nero software for
dvd 6in1 player. Any ideas? ?
I tried Tools > Options > Compatibility > Restore All Defaults in MM to no
avail.

Saving Movies With Move Maker
Greetings-
Would anyone be able to tell me why when I follow the steps to save a
finished movie that I created from clips made with my webcam and I attemp to
playback the CD-R in my Windows Media Player 9, it only shows the title
captioning that I created and only plays the sound? Am I missing a codec or
something?, it seems that it only plays back correctly from the CD-R when I
open it with the Movie Maker, -I am using Windows XP SP2.

Capturing Widescreen Format
Hi, am using Windows MM for the first time, attempting to capture video from
my Sony DV which I recorded in widescreen 16:9 format. I cannot see how to
get MM to recognise this, it's stretching all my video into 4:3 (I think!)
and everything looks awful. Can anyone advise?
My main goal at this point is to capture some still images from the video. I
later want to write the video to DVD in widescreen format. Would I be better
off using another package?

Need Simple Help on Transitions/Titles
I enjoy MM2, but have trouble remembering how to add textual messages to the
video itself or as transitions from one clip to another.
For example, before a clip on a beach video, I might want to have text

Or during video, have text superimposed on screen with commentary.

Difficulty in rendering transitions - Q to Papa John
I produced a 15 minute ski movie with plenty of short action clips and many
transitions (including some of MM2 winter transitions) and movie maker 2
refuses to render this to DV AVI (but will to WMV9 - highest quality PAL). If
I take out all the transitions it renders quickly to DV AVI but obviously
screws up the look and feel of the movie without the transitions. I also get
the occasional skip in the music backing track which I see described elswhere
as being attributable to MP3 files when rendering directly to Dv AVI. I see
a solution for music problem is to render to WMV then drop that back in as a
single clip to MM2 and render again to DV AVI which works first go for the
music. My question is ---- isnt this killing the quality of my video? ie
first to WMV and then to AVI?
by the way I have a recent high spec machine with 1 gig of ram and separate
120gb hard disk only for movies and am at a loss to understand the
transitions rendering issue. Also your site is great...it saved me hours of
frustration. Tim Tag: importing audio Tag: 28970

Subtitles
Hi,
I want to create subtitles for my movie.
The problem is, the "subtitles" style when adding text to video doesnt let
you change the background.
Is there any way I can get around this? I need to be able to change the
background colour. Or does anyone know of any other addins I can get? If not,
then I'll be forced to use some other forecolor such as Red, which isnt
really appropriate for subtitles.
Any response gratefully appreciated.

Perfect Disk - thanks JK!
I just downloaded Perfect Disk per John Kelly's request
and it did a wonderful job of defragmentation, especially
the free space.
I was burning a DVD for a friend and it appeared to
create successfully. The disk was ejected and after about
3 minutes a memory error popped up. I figured the disk
was toast, but I popped it in the PC DVD player and Media
player played it fine. Not sure what the error was about.
I'll have to wait and see if my friend can play it. I put
it in on a -R and my home player only plays +R.
Anyway, because of the error, I figured it was time to
try a better defrag tool (the experts here always say
tune up your hard drive when things stop working) and
this one works. Even though they give you 30 days to try,
Raxco is running 20% off right now so I may even jump on
that and buy it. XPs defrag tool just leaves your larger
files scattered among the free space. Perfect Disk
consolidates it all. Thanks for the tip John. Tag: importing audio Tag: 28915

Amazing Stuff VOB to AVI to VOB
Hello,
As a consequence of quite a few questions being asked recently about the use of
Nero for making a DVD I conducted the following tests
1) Recorded by way of a dedicated DVD-VR machine (Its a standalone machine that
performs like a VHS tape deck except it uses DVD disks and creates true DVD
formatted recordings)
2) Using Nero 6 Reloaded (with latest updates) I extracted the video from a
film recorded via satellite
3) Using Nero converted the VOB files to AVI
4) Using Movie Maker 2.1 removed adverts etc
5) Imported result to Nero 6, set DVD quality to Highest, created a very simple
menu with one animated button
6) Burn film to a Dual Layer disc (Complete file size was just over 6GB)
7) Am now watching it on an ordinary DVD player
The Quality??? I have only watched 15 min's or so which contains night time as
well as day light (The Film is The Fast and Furious) and as far as I can tell,
its as perfect as the original. I do realise that there MUST be some loss of
quality...its next to impossible to get around that...but I have to say that I
am extremely pleased with the result. I used a variable bit rate...I should
have printed out the log, which is now lost....I think the maximum was just
over 9Mb/s which is perhaps high...I don't know what the minimum was
I can heartily recommend Nero 6 Reloaded to any one interested in trouble and
hassle free DVD burning

MP2 import into MM
I have finally been able to get MM to import my .mp2 movie file, but when I
go to add the movie to the storyboard and add effects to it it locks up. I
thought it was just a one time fluke so I had to End Task the program and go
into it again. After multiple tries I could get it to play, but then if I
try to go and play it again in MM it acts like it is playing, but you see no
video. If I try and restart the movie I get the same results. I thought
that maybe it was because it was in a mp2 format so I have another computer
and I imported the same mp2 file on it and did the same things with no
problems. If on the machine I was able to get it working on I created a
movie of it as a AVI and then tried that on the computer that wasn't working
with the mp2 file it handled that new AVI just fine. Any ideas why this
would be? Could it be memory? I have 500mb of memory in the machine that is
not working right. Could it be codecs? I would like to get to the bottom of
this, so if you have any ideas please let me know.
Thanks! Tag: importing audio Tag: 28903
