Hi I've been trying to get wmm to work for ages but nothing ever seems to work I have XP Home whenever I try to import an avi clip it says: The file C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Kylie\Rurouni Kenshin - 12.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again. Where can I download codecs?     - MM2 and dark image in observer window The camera is a JVC GR DVL 805 Digital movie camera. It came with a cable that fits into the camera on 1 end and the other fits into the computer, a fairly recently built one. It is USB and the other is Firewire. The thing I noticed though, is that the monitor window in MM2 shows the images taken at night very dark, almost black, whereas on the monitor window of the camera they were fine. Is that attributable to MM2? The images look very normal, considering it was taken at night, in the viewfinder and camera flip-out screen. What might be the problem?     - No audio after saving to DV-AVI format. Hi, I have created a project uisng windows movie maker 2, when I play it back in movie maker, the audio and video is perfect. When I try and save it in DV-AVI format, it saves succesfully, but when playing the saved file back there is no audio, only high quality video.     - Video Transitions,effects. Hi. I have used Movie Maker 2.o before and have had 0 problems. Now, I'm still using 2.0 and am trying to add video transitions& effects but each time I drop them to the storyline the program ends immediately. I have plenty of space on my hard drive and my virtual memory is a bit low, but shouldn't affect that as such. Do I need to expand my paging file so I have more virtual memory? or should I reinstall windows xp again? I have service pack 1.     - Can't burn to CD I see someone else has the exactly the same problem as me (computerilliterate an 21st Dec), so at least it is not a one off. When I try to burn a movie to CD it says it is preparing the movie, gets to 58%, and will go no further. I have to cancel, at which point I get a message that it has not finished saving the movie and am I sure? Any suggestions? I am using XP Home SP2. Or how about a work round? I thought of saving the movie to my hard drive then copying it to CD.     - Black & White Capture I have connected my Sony DCR-TRV350 using s-video cables that go through the ATI TV Wonder Pro Video Adapter. The adapter is an s-video/composite video adapter however when I try to capture my video from the tape, it appears in black and white. Anyone encounter this before and possibly have a solution?     - No Audio from Video in Timeline Preview I've made a couple of short videos with MM, and I've never had any problems. The other day, I started a new project, and placed a few clips in the timeline. When I previewed it, all of sudden, there was no audio. When I highlight the clip in the folder, and hit play on the preview screen, there is audio, but when I highlight the timeline and hit play, it doesn't play the audio. Also, at the same time, I have no system sounds for my computer. I've checked all of the drivers and audio settings and everything seems fine.     - OT: soundtrak suggestions please Hi everyone, I could use some suggestions from fellow users. I'm putting together a slide show of my son's first year to give to my parents and in-laws for Christmas. He was born 12/30/2003, and I have some great pictures and video to use. My problem is I'm having a hard time thinking of a good song to put along with my pictures. I've got Louis Armstrong's "Wonderful World", but that's just a little over 2 minutes long, so I need another song (or two) to fill out my aproximately six minutes of pictures and video. I thought about using a few songs from the Baby Einstein soundtrak, but those don't really go well with Wonderful World (and I really want to use that one since a number of the beginning pictures are in the delivery room right after he was born and when we first brought him home).     - Analog capture in Full NTSC I'm trying to capture footage from VHS and I want to get the best possible rez so I change the video settings to 720x480 but when I try to capture I get an error which says "the video device is currently in use. Close any other applications.....". I'm using a PCI tuner card w/ composite input and I've checked all the settings. Seems the original SP2 install capped the download speed a S100 instead of permitting the S400 speeds that video capture prefers. I've been working on this christmas gift slide show-like movie and when I go to save it to a cd it says I should check the space in the cd, make sure all my sources are there, and see if there's a big enough file to keep it in. The color quality is overblown with green and yellow hues.     - Capturing Widescreen Format Hi, am using Windows MM for the first time, attempting to capture video from my Sony DV which I recorded in widescreen 16:9 format. I cannot see how to get MM to recognise this, it's stretching all my video into 4:3 (I think!) and everything looks awful. Can anyone advise?     - Recording Movie back to camera I have a Panasonic mini DV camera. We have created our movie in movie maker with all the bells and whistles and we are unable to record it back to the camera to then transfer it to VHS. Can someone please help? The only music it seems I can import are ones I've downloaded using (WinXM).
I think that's because they get listed in my 'music' file. (Which is severly
limited)

So... Can someone tell me if there is a way to access the songs I've loaded
into my WMP?
