    - Uploading a .mov file to my website I have some movie files taken with a Minolta DimageX camera. They seem to have the .mov extension. I am having trouble uploading them to my website. It has been suggested to me that they need to be converted to MPEG files as this is the usual format for viewing online. Does anyone know how this can be done? All help is much appreciated.     - Program freezes On my desktop running an Intel mobo, adding any transition, effect, or anything else causes movie maker to freeze...no activity in Prog manager. Close is the only option. I can insert clips, and save them out. I turned off video acceleration, no joy, but not sure what to look at next. Win XP SP2, a fairly fresh install without a lot of junk loaded. 512 MB ram, 1.6 GHz p4. Any ideas?     - Inported Video I captured a video from my Panasonic PV-GAS200 recorder using CyberLink PwoerDirector 3. I can play the captured *.mpg file using Windows Media Player without any problems. I then imported the *.mpg file into Windows Movie Maker Collections - Dragged the imported file to the Timeline and tried to watch a preview for editing. All of the frames are UPSIDEDOWN.     - Problem Saving AVI I have read and followed almost all of the recommendations at Papa John's wonderful site. However, I am having some problems saving a movie as an AVI. Since I can save a 45 minute video downloaded from my DV camera, the problem is not memory or unregistered DLLs. The movie I'm trying to save is 14 minutes. All of the source files are present and accounted for. They were all moved into a single folder and then copied to several computers for testing. All computers exhibit the same problem. If I delete everything but a single AVI file and a title, the movie will not save. If I delete the AVI source file, the title will save as an AVI movie. The present movie, as edited, saves has a High Quality NTSC with no problem. The movie plays perfectly in WMM. The only problem is that it will not save as an AVI. Is it possible that there is something unusual about the encoding of the (uncompressed) AVI file? I'm presently using AVS File Converter to convert from AVI to AVI, thinking that something is not up to spec. Before I waste any MORE hours chasing the problem, I thought I would ask here. Assuming that I do not get this problem solved, what is the next best format to AVI? NTSC High Quality WMV? The ultimate destination is a DVD.     - Burning a video from M.P. to a DVD? I made a video using Movie Maker and wanted to save it to a DVD, but it would not let me. So i saved it using Media Player and I was able to save it on to a DVD but now it will not play it on my DVD player.     - Copying DVD to PC, many files, what's what? The local school did a DVD for my kid's school year. I bought it, and when I got it home... instead of tossing it into a box, I've been moving CD files (and now DVD's) like this onto my PC, and then organizing them digitally. But unlike a single file on a CD, a DVD has lots of files. Questions are... 1) Does every DVD have lots of files and several folders? (This one had two sub-folders). The multi-file thing almost mandates creating a whole folder for 'one' DVD. Is there an easier way to do this, like create ONE file called "School2006.???" and have it launch the DVD (even if it's in some folder somewhere), so 10 years from now I don't have to wade thru files and know just what to click. 2) Since I'm not using a DVD to insert and autostart... and am instead starting this presentation from PC file(s)... how do I know "which" file to click on to start it. Is there some de facto standard to look for? (like when installing software, the de facto standard a lot of times is to double click "setup.exe"). 3) If I get rid of the original DVD, how would I copy this presentation from PC back down to a DVD (to duplicate it for grandparents)? Do I just copy the 2 subfolders and all their files? Will it auto-start like the original. Or do I have to add some type of file to make it autostart?     - MyDVD aspect ratio wrong for captured video I am new to video editing. I have a Sony HC90 camera and am trying to use the software I have at hand to capture video, edit it, and then burn DVD's. I'm able to capture video using MovieMaker, but can't burn DVD's with MovieMaker as far as I can tell. I also have Sonic MyDVD 4.5. I was able to import video produced by MovieMaker and then burn a CD. It seems that MyDVD has some nice features, like the ablity to create "chapters" in a video while it is capturing. However, when I capture in MyDVD, the picture is squished. I can't find a way in MyDVD to change the settings so it knows the video input is in widescreen mode. With widescreen so common nowadays, it seems the MyDVD should be able to support this. I'm not sure if this is the right newsgroup for this type of question.     - Audio intermittantly out of sync at all phases of moviemaking Hi, We've read everything we can find on audio sync problems. Clearly this is a bear to diagnose. Would any experts care to give us a top-3 things to try first? Situation: Brand new HP Media Center PC top-of-the-line Intel chipset. Ancient analog video camera. We capture using the RCA inputs on the PC's front panel for the Conexant Falcon II video capture card and with Sonic myDVD on the HQ=DVD setting. Playback of captured video in WMM will occasionally cause in-sync and out of sync playback of the same scene. Big edit on WMM... huge file, music in the background, titles, the works and... again, in the timeline, depending on when, where, how you click... sometimes the same segment will be in or out of sync. Using the WMM's own create DVD add-on (apparently a Sonic plug-in) we burned a DVD. And upon playback of the DVD in our TV's DVD player, the audio was out of sync in certain scenes. Check back at the project on the PC, and the same scene might play in sync. Question: What's the best way to fix this issue? Is this a system resources issue?     - video plays back slower than audio this is my first movie, so I need some very basic help. I am finished with my movie and imported it into Adobe Premiere Pro to burn it to a DVD. It plays perfectly when I play it through Movie Maker or Adobe, but when the DVD it finished burning and I play it on my DVD player, the video plays back slower than the audio, so the people's lips move at a different rate than their words. I am experimenting with taming an un manageable (loading time) work in progress project by breaking it up and saving up into several projects, and when through editing all, to merge the several projects into one and only then saving the merged group into a Movie File. I would like to be able to merge to an MSWMM so that I can continue editing the final file. I have not been able to solve a very, very slow loading of projects and their components, though my CPU is relatively fast and I have enough memory.     - MM freezes and doesn't respond I am trying to make a movie but everytime I try and watch it back ikt freezes and stops responding, it always gets so far before kit freezes but then the movie stops whilst the music plays for a few more seconds then that stops too. The movie itself isn't that big, only about 4 minutes, but I have ALOT of clips n collections (most collections only have about 2 minutes worth of clips in them) that aren't nesseecerily in the movie.     - Can't add a transition after I add a title I have used Movie Maker in the past and never had this problem. I'm making a slideshow using photos and I want to add titles before some pictures. When I do that then I can no longer put a transition in before the picture. (In the past I've been able to put in transition, title, transition, picture.)     - Poor quality in DV-AVI format! When I save the movie I make; the video is excellent quality in High Quality mode. Problem is that I need to save it to my DV (back to my camcorder tape) and it will only take .avi format, not the .wmv format that all the other options are saved as. When I saved it to DV in the DV-AVI (.avi) format and played it on the TV, the quality of the video was poor (all smudgy and stuff). I know its not the camcorder quality because it plays original stuff beautifully on the TV. Any suggestions on what I can do to get the high quality video recorded back to my DV???? Is there some other program that I can use with Movie Maker to save in .avi or mpeg at a higher quality? I tried saving it as High Quality (Large) and sending it to my camcorder DV. It was all broken up, pretty messed up because I found out that the camcorder won't accept .wmv format. However the little bits that I could see were crystal clear.
