My windows movie maker crashes everytime I try and trim a video or audio
clip. I've turned off all the codecs on my computer and I've searched through
Windows MovieMaker troubleshooting but nothing has worked. It still shuts
down. What can I do? Thanks for the help.

Yes I did. I didn't notice anything different at all. I also downloaded those
other things you talked about in another topic.

So far I have just been using 1 mp3 file and an mpeg file but everytime I
drag and trim the clips for both files, the whole program crashes. Im gona
keep trying to figure it out. I've even tried making a movie with other
videos and songs and I had the same problem. Do you think the problem has
something to do with having a program like Kazaa (the one I have is called
Ares) on my computer?

Aha !!

I am afraid that both file types you mention can cause problems....you can
go to www.videohelp.com/convert and grab a file converter to change them to
AVI and WAV...that should fix your problem.

You use Kazaa !!!! You are very brave. I can't say whether it would affect
Movie Maker or not but I would not allow Kazaa or any similar program near
to my machines......Using Kazza is possibly the surest way of infecting
your system with a wide variety of files like spyware, adware, trojans,
worms etc etc....very nasty stuff.

Thanks for the help. I hope it works. Ya, youre right about kazaa. It sure
does put a load of junk on your machine. I use ares and I don't seem to
notice anything wrong with my computer but that doesn't mean its not doing
anything to it.

Hello,

I don't know of Ares. I run a mile from anything Kazaa, or similar. All
because I used to spend time repairing friends machines. With one of them
he just would not listen and in the end I withdrew my support. In a phone
conversation December time he casually slipped it in to the chat that his
machine was down to a crawl again...I did not refuse as such, I just did
not offer....I heard from him again in to the new year....He had gone out
and bought a new machine because the old one (3Ghz Intel with flat screen
etc) could no longer be persuaded to work !!!! I understand that he has at
last taken the other advice about creating regular backups....(that's
another similar but long story)

Anyway...if things do not pan out do please say so....see what we can work
out for you.
