I have video clips from our monastery in France. The files are .asx files.
The videos can be viewed but I can't import them into MM. I have converter
software but it doesn't read asx files also.

You need the .asf files....the .asx files are
just pointers. Have a look at the following

Thanks, John. Yes, I knew that much.
I finally found software called HiDownloader and by while playing the video
in Media Player I right clicked on its title in the right hand pane. There I
copied the url which was a wmv file. I then opened HiDownloader and it
converted it into a .wmv file and now I have a file to use in MM!
