.VOB or .VRO files

I am trying to import files from my camera on a DVD. they show up as .VRO and
.VOB files, that are not supported by movie maker but can be played on Media
Player. I would like to edit these movies, how can I change the format to one
that is accessable by Media Player?

I tried this and it worked for me.

Copy the file from the Camera DVD to a location on your computer.

Change the file name for xxxxx.VRO to xxxxx.mp2 then try importing it into
Movie Maker.
