i am making a movie/music video to a song in windows movie maker. i would
like to fade the music out at a certain point to hear some audio from the
video, and then resume at the same point in the song after it's finished. the
problem i'm having is when i cut the music at the point i want it and click
"fade out", and then i play it, the music first fades out and then a quick
noise of sound returns before the silence. i have done this fading music
thing before in my movie and it worked fine. i tried moving the point where
the music stops and it does the same thing....please help me, i really don't
know what to do! i need help asap, this project needs to be done soon!!
thanks....

What happens if you select Mute on
the part you wish to omit.

I am having the same problems.

I love movie maker and think its a great program. I have a wish lis
for it though. I wish that I could fade music in and out with a slide
button so I could choose the level of the sound. I wish that I could d
the same thing with video. (Fade to black etc).

No matter what I try, I cannot get the music to fade in and out at th
right places. In fact, fade does not work at all. I have cut the clip
Tried muting and not muting. Nothing is working. There are some grea
training videos available but none deal with this issue except i
passing. I would love to see one that explains how this is done.

To get around the problem I have had to cut the music track, lower it
volume, allow the sound on the video I am using to play. Cut it again
raise the volume on the music and then continue. The problem is tha
when I cut the the music track it produces a blip on the sound an
ruins the continuity.

Having said all of that, I think Movie Maker is wonderful. It jus
needs a few tweaks here and there.

Any ideas anyone?

I am running Windows XP home edition.
256K of Ram.
Brand New Dell Computer (Dimention 3100c)
All software is updated.

PS. I have noticed that my Anti Virus program can cause blips in th
music track and I now turn it off when editing
