editing *.dat movies

hai,
i have *.dat movies in my system. i want to mix some of
these files using windows moviemaker2.i am unable to
import these files into movie maker2. in the previus
movie maker there i used to import these files and edit
them but now i could do those.
plz suggest me how to set the movie maker2 to accept
these *.dat files .

Maybe you want to use both MM1 and MM2, and continue to use MM1 to do it.
