    - Save Movie as DV-AVI (NTSC) Error This is sort of complex so please bear with me while I try to explain the details. Just finished a project and went to make save movie in DV-AVI (NTSC) format and the "Save Movie Wizard" dialog displayed the following "Cannot Complete the Save Movie Wizard", "Your movie was not saved successfully". "Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are sill available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again". So I did all of the above and everything checks out just fine. Closed MM2 and reopened project, but still wouldn't save DV-AVI (NTSC) movie. So figured I'd try saving it as a 'High quality video (NTSC)' movie; worked fine. Figured maybe something wrong with MM2 preventing it from saving DV-AVI (NTSC) movies, so I loaded the main source clip into an empty project and saved it as DV-AVI (NTSC) movie just fine. Okay so maybe something wrong with some of the other clips, transitions, or titling in the project. So I delete everything from the project except the main video clip (the one I mentioned saving above) but it still wouldn't save as DV-AVI (NTSC) movie. What gives? How can I figure out what is wrong with this project and fix it so it will save as a DV-AVI (NTSC) movie? Tag: download wma sound files Tag: 22714

    - Windows Movie Maker conversion I recently bought an HP 420i DVD burner and I am trying to convert the WMM slideshow I made of my trip to Ireland to a media format the HP will burn, without success. I've read around groups, etc. and haven't yet figured out how to do this. When I try to burn the VCD it kicks out my DVD-RW and says to check the media. The only thing I can figure out is that the HP burner doesn't like WMM format, but I can't figure out how to change it or save it. Anyone have this figured out? All help will be greatly appreciated.     - WMM 2.1 Beta? I saw this mentioned on Papa John's site. Sounds like a major improvement, to solve crashes due to codec conflicts within the program, without having to rename codecs manually or with a 3rd party program. It would be nice if there was a bug list one could go to to see if a symptom they are experiencing is due to a known bug. Is there such a list already in existence?     - sound skips Everytime a transition happens in my movie (slideshow) you can hear it in the music. I have changed my MP3 files to WAV like suggested. Is there any way to prevent this?     - Video quality I have succesfully recorded video to Movie Maker from a Sony Handycam thru the firewire port, but am shocked at the poor quality of the recording, versus what I watch directly on my Handycam. I generally set the camera to LP for shooting video, but when I download to Movie Maker 2, my video comes out showing digital pixels which blurs the images, and distorts the finished movie.     - Audio vs Audio/Music I have still pictures (NO VIDEO), narration, and music that I want to all go at the same time. So the music is background and the narration is heard while the pictures are passing by. I cannot figure out how to get background music. It seems like the only way is if I have video. Audio levels don't work for both narration and music in the Audio/Music row of the timeline. How do you balance music and narration in the Audio/Music row?     - Problems getting movie to go on cd I have tried every thing to get movie maker to put my movie on cd but it gives me an error message that says something like movie maker does not detect a burner on my computer.     - Custom Effects and Transitions not working Downloaded the custom effects and transitions from MS. Followed the instructions, but still no extra effects. The original effects still work fine. The only thing I didn't understand in the instructions was compiling to visual c++. Not sure if this applies to me or not. Here are the instructions I followed: Create the AddOnTFX directory in Movie Maker's Shared install directory (C:\Program files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX), and then copy the XML files from the XML directory in this sample (C:\MMSTFX\XML\*.xml) to the directory you created. Register the enclosed DLL, MMSTFX.dll, in the sample's Bin directory by typing regsvr32 c:\MMSTFX\Bin\MMSTFX.dll from the command line. Run Movie Maker and look for the new transitions and effects. When compiling this sample be sure to add the DXMedia SDK's include directory (C:\DXMedia\Include) to your Visual C++ include path.     - Not recognizing mpeg files Occasionally, I take video footage on my little sony digital still camera and it captures audio and video in mpeg format. When I try to import that file into wmm (version 2), it will only capture about the first 5-10 seconds. Then it tends to freeze when working with that file.     - Audio out of synch I added some titles and credits to a MPG captured from my video camera. The credits take a while, so I added some background audio that plays while the credits are running. Then I saved the whole thing as a WMV (2.1 mbps NTSC). It looks fabulous when viewed in the media player, but when I burn a DVD (with Sonic MyDVD) the audio is horribly out of synch (the credits end WAY before the background audio does, even though they match up in the timeline). I thought maybe the background audio was the problem, so I switched it from MP3 to WAV, but no change. So now I'm thinking maybe it's a problem with the titles and credits -- it's almost like the timeline is distorted or it's dropping frames somewhere along the way. Thanks to anyone who can help!     - new to wmm, need help badly amd athlon 64 processor, 3200+ @2.2 ghz 512 mb pc2700 ddr sdram 80 gb 7200rpm ultra dma hard drive my presario came loaded with wmm2. i own a jvc gr-d33u mini dv camcorder. i am using a brand new firewire. during video capture i can control camera, however at the end of capture, "video not captured correctly, make sure device is configured correctly" error message is displayed. pc recognizes dv device, and is operating correctly. it is on video on cam. i got it to work one time so i know it can work. is there something i should know about temp storage files or save-to files. i think thats what i messed with when i got it to work, but now i'm going nuts!! i tried win dv, image mixer 1.7, renaming codecs, reinstalling directx 9, nothing seems to work. like i said, it worked fine once after messing w/ files. then the next time (2hrs later) it would not work. this is making me crazy, please help...thanks Tag: download wma sound files Tag: 22582

    - using MM over a network Will MM work as effficiently when working with files on a server as opposed to files on the hard drive. We are in a school lab and students work seperately to create portions of movies. In the past when we've worked with iMovie on Macs, we couldn't use files on the server. Is the same true with MM?
