I have a new Sony DV-deck and now I want to digitize stuff with MM.
It connects to the deck, rewinds and then crashes with an unknown error.

I have An Asus P5WD2 Premium with a Pentium D 3.4 GHz Computer.

Anyone encountered a similar problem?

What model is the dv deck?
How are you connecting?
Does it crash if you try to manually capture?
Can you capture with any other apps, such as windv, free and linked from

It is a GVD300 (I also tried with a SONY PD150). The connection is Firewire.
When I capture manually, I get a "class not registered"-error.
I also tried capturing with my Avid-Liquid 7.1. Does not work either. Only
camera control, no picture (but no error.)

Thanks for the link.
Itried with winDV and I get a "Runtime Error"(but I hear the deck spinning
up) then it crashes.

What could that be?

This sounds like a hardware problem.
Check out the tests on this page and let us know the results.
