is Date and time infromation kept wihtin the WMV file or is it kept within
the collection?- if so i would liek to backup this information where is it.

had a look for the .DAT files couldnt find them, searched the whole computer
still couldnt find them, using MM2.0 and show hidden and OS files are
viewable.

If there's no collection database file, Movie Maker automatically creates
one when it opens.... It's a .DAT file for MM2 and a .COL file for MM1.

Maybe you don't have your file extension viewing option turned on.... My
Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > uncheck 'Hide extensions for
known file types'

have opened movie maker and can see 10 collections which are all WMV but have
the DTS (date time stamp) which is good have gone to the

"C:\Documents and Settings\moz\Application Data\Microsoft\Movie Maker"
folder have ensureed that

"show hidden files and folders" is selected

unticked "hide OS files)

unticked hide extentions for known types.

and the folder is empty

imported another clip folder still empty

any other ideas? there are no other profiles on the machine

Right click on the space in the collection contents pane and opt to view the
clips as thumbnails... or list for pertinent details.

But if the date/time info isn't in the collection info, you can't add it
automatically. You would need to do it manually.

In fact, what I want was to display those recording date "in" the images or
"On" the vidieo images thus I could view it after I burnned the video onto a
DVD.

There's an option in the camcorder to record the date/time as you shoot the
video... but transferring it to the video after it's been shot isn't a
feature of Movie Maker or any other app that I use...

No, I don't know enough about how timecode works on a tape or what it would
