Windows Media Player and Movie Maker can be set up to download codecs
automatically, how intuitive is this though...?
I have an AVI file created with my digital snapshot camera - it plays ok in
Media Player, then still ok played from 'Collections' in Movie Maker, but
only as a blank screen with sound only when played from the 'Timeline'.
I downloaded AceMegaCodecs while I was trying to get better support for mp4
files, also DEP has dug it's heels in trying to close Explorer, Movie Maker
and Media Player when I attempt anything with the AVI.
It wouldn't be so bad I could get the sound from the file, but I
simultaneously recorded a wav file for dubbing through a shure PG58 mic, so
my AVIs are effectively now turning out useless.
Please advise
