Every time I try to import something into Windows Movie Maker, whether it be
video, sound, or images, this error message always pops up, "(fille name
here)could not be imported. The selected item has been deleted from the
project. To use this item in your movie, import the original file again." I
try to import it again as it says, but it keeps popping up. This happens
every single time I try to import something, and I don't see any reason for a
movie if it has nothing in it.

How do I fix this problem?

You may be trying to import files which are not compatible with movie maker,
are corrupt or you have a corrupt installation of movie maker.

Incompatible files is dealt with here
http://www.myvideoproblems.com/Tutorials/MovieMaker/File_type_compatibility.htm

Corrupt files means getting them again, but this I think is a long shot if
it happens with lots of files.

Corrupt MM installation, if you have MM2.1 with Sp2 then see the link to
Dean Rowe's page on this page
