Hello there,
Can I suggest that you check the cable plugged into your cd or DVD. A
common symptom of a bad connection in the 40pin 80 wire cable is that the
motherboard resets itself, and that gives the appearance of a windows
re-boot.
Very often the problem occurs with the cheaper grade of cable that does
not have a firm fit into either the motherboard or any of the drives. If you
turn your machine off when finished with it, that alone will add to the
problem, the heating and cooling of the machine causes a badly fitting cable
to work its way loose finally causing a bad connection.
How do I know? the above describes my problem of a few years back.....by
gently pressing on the plug you could feel it move back into place. It would
not fail again for several re-boots and the immediate solution was always
the same. .I replaced the cables and the problem disappeared permanently.
Best Wishes.....John Kelly
