Hey all,

I spent hours last night trying to capture my first
video. I am connected to a Sony DCR-TRV900 via a Firewire
from my HP computer. AMD3200 with 512ram, 64mb video
card. The computer recognized the Sony handycam with no
problem and can control the the fast forward/rewind/play
camera functions via the Windows Maker control. I know
there is a good connection.

The problem is when I try to capture the video. It stalls
on 3KB file size no matter how I try to capture. There is
no preview of the video, but i can see it playing on the
LCD of the camera. I get messages telling me to check the
configuration between the camera and the computer...what?
I see there have been dozens of people that have
experienced the same problem, but noone has posted the
solution! Is there none! Please help. Thanks!~

Try capturing with the WinDV utility.... a free download with a link on the
Digital Camcorders > Intro page of my site.

If you have the same problem with WinDV, then it's somewhere between your
capture card and camcorder.
