    - The Combination Photo story 3 to moviemaker I have placed my short Photostories into window moviemaker. Three of my photostories had the music incorporated. One did not. I decided to add the music in movie maker. I use Neuro to burn my projects to a DVD. The problem that I am currently having is when I play what I burned there are episodes where the presentation skips,seems to want to stall. One of my home DVD refused to play it. Other units seem to have little more skips while yet another skips less. This occurs with all the short stories that were made with windows movie maker. All the projects play well on the computer. I have tried to burn the projects using photostory 2 but got frustrtated and went to moviemaker instead. There has to be a very simple explanation to this dilemma.     - Changing timing of slides I have imported about 50 photos into movie maker for a slide show and want to change the transition times in between each slide. Is there an easy way to "highlight" of the slides and change them all at once or do I have to click on them one by one. The options setting in the setup allows you to designate the transition time, but it only seems to work at the start of a project and not in the middle of one.     - Will not import anything Windows movie maker is not importing ANY kind of file. Avis, mpg, mpeg, wmv, nothing. It tells me "The file C:\filename.wmv cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer.     - Best place to post movies. What is the best place to post movies for public viewing? I use Putfile, but the limit is 25Meg, which is good, but sometimes tough to stay under.     - importing wmv files I use Cyberlink Powerproducer Gold to create DVDs after creating movie bits in MM which I then save in wmv format using Papajohns settings. This process gives me supurb guality for my DVD. However Powerproducer has suddenly stopped importing the wmv files, it gives me an error. Avi and Mpeg work fine. Cyberlink tech has been little help.     - AVI On my XP Home SP2 computer,I saved a bunch of short videos as .avi files after editing them in MM2. Using a Ulead program, I burned a DVD program that worked out well. I can't however view the base .avi videos on my computer using Windows Media Player 10. I thought that WMP was supposed to support .avi files, but I just get a blue box when I try.     - Trimmed clips changes movie from 30 --> 4 frames per sec I have some mpeg 2 video clips imported from VHS tapes, at 30 fps. I play them in WMM and they play fine. That until I trim off anthing from the beginning of a clip. After that, they only show (and record) at about 4 fps. The action is moving along at the correct pace, but many frames are dropped.     - movie maker 2 - clips reversed I have imported a video I recorded onto a DVD, then onto the computer. The DVD show is about 35 minutes total and I want to get a 45-second segment off this DVD to save as a file separately so I can upload that 45-second file to my website. I "imported" the dvd file into MM2 and it created a bunch of "clips". However the clip thumbnail images are "reversed" (backwards or upside down). How can I change this? Also, there is no audio but the DVD did have audio. I dragged 3 clips onto the timeline as those 3 are the ones I want, but like I said, the clip images are upside down/reversed and no audio.     - JVC Everio GZ-MG21 Hard Drive Camcorder I just purchased the above mentioned camcorder. No tapes or mini CD's required. Too Cool. Works great. Files it creates on its HD are mpeg 2 and are saved with a .mod extension.     - Capturing Video From ATI Rage Video Theatre Capture Device Hi, When I attempt to capture a video, the preview screen and subsequent captured file display flashing colors. Occassionally, I am not allowed to capture a file and get a message that more or less says: "Device already in use by another application" (meaning, I assume, ATI itself). I can capture fine using the ATI TV/composite option, but the video is imported in .mp2 which is incompatible with my CD/DVD burning software and I have no way to convert .mp2 to a different format. Is there a known way to fix this apparent incompatibility betyween MM2 and ATI short of aquiring additional software? If not, what software is recommended to rectify this issue? But if I add one to the timeline, even if it's the only thing there, it skips so badly when playing that I basically can't even view it.     - Can't Import Video Sorry, but I don't really know much about computers so here goes...     - Movie Maker2 Not getting start & sending reports to Microsoft only While opening my Movie Maker Ver 2 for the last more then a month, Microsoft Windows dialoge box appears with the saying " Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Tell this error to Microsoft and despite sending reports promptly and regularly everytime, no revert back by Microsoft for any solution to restore the working of Movie Maker. I have also tried to update from Microsoft Windows automatic updates & tried downloaded as suggested in other similar questions, but its not working! Can Microsoft will advise the use of sending error reports?     - NTSC / PAL format issue I have a PAL Sony mini DV camera, PAL format. Storing tapes in PAL format with movie maker is not a problem. However I would like to store videos taken with a NTSC standard with help of my camera and the movie maker.     - Reinstall Movie Maker? I have just started movie maker for the first time. (Didn't know it existed until a friend told me about it recently!) When it started there was a message saying a file was missing (Which of course I did not make note of!) It asked if I wished to continue, and I said yes. I wanted to test how it worked so I just imported a small MPG clip, about 5mg, I dragged the parts to the timeline and proceeded through the save to disc sequence. At which point the screen said Movie Maker was unable to save the file, and to check if the source file was still available and if there was enough disc space. Yes to both. But I am still unable to save a file. When I attempted the same with a different clip, Movie Maker crashed, and sent a report to MS. (No response from MS!) Tried once more with yet another clip. THis time my computer froze, and I had to do the CTL/ALT/DEL thing. Is there some way to determine which file was missing when I first started Movie Maker?     - Photo story 3 preview stopped working Hi I have used Photo story 3 with success until the last time. The preview feature stopped working with the message" that some of the program files are corrupted, and to reinstall Photo story 3 and try again." This I did and then tried a Photo Story which had worked previously but I got the same message.I have Windows xp ,Pentium 4, 512 mb. 71 GB harddrive with 23 free GB.The storys that I am testing are only three photos long.     - Importing burned DVD back into WMM to save? Ok, first, I'm pretty low-tech but I can usually figure things out. I made a Video in WMM and burned the video to DVD+R. The video was taking up 10 Gb, so I deleted the project from my hard drive, leaving the burned DVD as my only copy. I didn't even think to save it in a compressed format. Now that's what I want to do, so I can host parts of it on the internet. I've tried, but I can't get WMM to import the finished product / DVD. It's a .ts file or something. (?) I don't have it hear at work. What do I need to do to load the video from the DVD+R back to WMM so I can save the project and upload to the internet?     - connecting camcorder to pc (slightly ot) Hi A guy at work has recently bought a digital camcorder and was asking me about firewire connections (I know the general consensus is that its the best way to connect). His camera connects via the USB lead to a socket on the camera which is what seems to be the standard USB connection. We have 3 digital cameras and 3 MP3 players (different brands) and all use this same small plug to connect to the USB.     - Why is "Combine" not possible in MovieMaker ? Ok, I loaded a wmv movie into MovieMaker and put the marker (=blue vertical line in the timeline) somewhere in the mid of the movie. Then I did a first "split" and just a second one afterwards on another position with success. Now I have 3 independent parts. I marked the middle part and deleted successfully. Finally I wanted to paste the remaining two parts. For that I hold down the CTRL key and selected with mouse clicks at first the left then the right part. When I go now to the "clip" menu in order to make a "Combine" operation it is NOT possible. The menu entry "Combine" is greyed out/disabled. Why ?     - lag and skipping during use so im making a movie about 9 minutes using Fraps, and i have LOTS of edits and Effects, but sometimes in the movie, it just starts lagging and skips to the end, and other times in random places the screen freezes but the sound keeps going. its insanly disturbing, because then i have to press Stop but its laggy so it takes a while then watch it over again. then the next day the clip works and then another day it doesnt. how come its so laggy and the clips mess up randomly? Video Effects includes "Brightness Increase"...
just drag it and drop it on the clip in the timeline.
If once is not enough...drag/drop it again up to
six times.

If you need to brighten just a portion of a video
clip...you'll need to split the video before and
after the dark area and then you can brighten
the specific portion.
