Hello,
Yes this is a typical Movie Maker crash situation when it comes across
something called a "Codec" that it does not like. In version 2.1 of Movie Maker
Microsoft attempted to solve this by giving you an "Advanced" option where you
can deselect the problem codec.....on my system it does not recognise two of
those Codecs. But, there is another answer ...a very popular download from my
website is a program called "Rename Codecs" It will identify all culprit Codecs
and you can rename all of them while you are using MM. If you decide to go
that route you must restore the names after you are finished with MM (again
using the Rename Codec program). If you don't the programs that rely on one of
those Codecs will fail to function.....check out the short tutorial on my
website about Rename Codecs.
