    - Moviemaker to DivX ? Hi Sorry if this was already treated in a previous post, I am new here. I tried to process an .avi file with moviemaker2 (cut and paste). The reason : VirtualDubMod did not do what I wanted. Everything was OK till I tried to save the result as .avi. Then I failed, I could not save but as a project format or as .wmv. Is it possible to save as DivX ? How ?     - Slow audio problem I saved a movie last night on MM2.0, and the audio came out incredibly distorted. At first I thought it was just a sound quality problem, because I used a low bitrate - but now I'm not so sure. Every movie I try to make gets an audio that's 50% (guess) slow in speed and in pitch. Meaning: 1. When I import a movie into the collections panel then preview the clips from there - all is fine. But once I drag a clip into the timeline and preview it there - sound is distorted. 2. I'm unable to use movie maker at this point, since this happens with all new projects, where both source and/or output files could be anything, even DV AVI. 3. I've tried reinstalling MM2, Media Player 9, Media Player Codecs... nothing works. I'm guessing there's either a solution, or I'll have to reinstall Windows. Anyone knows? Thanks.     - Quality of the final movie I used MM2 several times and each time when I create the final AVI-movie (with maximum quality) I don't get a perfect quality movie. Sound is perfect, the picture is good, but not perfect. It has the same resolution-quality as the original movie, but I see "artifacts" certainly with shots of quick movements.     - Quality of MPEG Video I have encoded both Quicktime and AVI videos to MPEG using the free version of TMPGEnc. The software worked fine and I got an output, but the quality is poor. This is the case whether I encode to MPEG1 or MPEG2, 1 Mb/s or 2 Mb/s, slow or fast motion detection. I've heard good things about TMPGEnc; is the commercial version better than the freeware?     - burning pal to dvd Having just started mm2 after some effort I successfully edited and burnt my first movie.To show how clever I was I burnt it again,success, Now a problem. In my new effort I edited, having imported from a PAL dv camera as before. When I tried to burn I got a message that I was trying to burn an NTSC movie to a PAL setting DVD.How did my import get onto NTSC?     - WMM2 Error message When I try to capture video I get the following error message: "The video device is currently in use. Closw any other application that is using this device and try again." Once i click OK, a new message reads: "the video device cannot be used at this time because there has been an error starting the device". I'm using a ATI All-In-Wonder 128 pro.     - MM2 used to load, now crashes Up until a month or two ago MM2 worked just fine. Now it laods, displays the most recent thumbnails collection and the immediately crashes with a problem in ntdll.dll. Don't seem to have the offending DIVX codecs on the system and have not found anything else on papjohn site that describes my problem. Studio version 8 works fine but MM2 is easier for a quick edit.     - Age old question...MM2 and MPEG Note: I am re-asking the question as 2.1 was released recently, and I can import my files into WMEnc9. To give you an idea of my starting point/version, I slipstreamed SP2 into an XP install. I am capturing video with an ATI AIW Radeon into MPEG2. I can open these files with WMP9, WMEnc9, but not with MM2.1. The age old error message is "filename.mpg could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events from" Initially, the only suggestion I found on PapaJohn's website and aside from an interim conversion. http://www.eicsoftware.com/PapaJohn/MM2/MM2.html I want to eventually compress to a wmv using a bit rate of peak 3000, average 1200, no resizing of the video, and with the comercials cut out. The problem with an interim conversion is that the comercials typically weight on the peak and push the wanted content to the low side of the average. The next logical step is to capture with a specific codec. What codecs are supported. I have found web pages (listed next) that say what file types MM supports and that not all MPEG2 codecs are supported, what codecs WMP supports, and what pixel format to use when capturing. But they do not list what MPEG2 codecs MM2.1 does support.     - Importing Video Causes Crash This board suggested that since I don't have a firewire cable, I cannot use MM2 to capture DV video at high quality. It was suggested I use another service which would allow me to capture it with USB and then import the video into MM2. When I import the MPG, I get the Windows Error window : Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. I do not have that third tab but I do have all the files listed on Papa Johns website in the WMM folder. eg wwm2res.dll dated 4/8 etc. When I go to the help section on the tool bar at the top and click on "About WMM" it comes up as version 5.1(......SP2) Windows Movie Maker version 2.03312.0 This sounds like I am not completely installed??     - Timestamp again I see this question has been asked but I'm not clear about the answer. I have a Sony TRV325 and am capturing via firewire to MM2. The time/date stamp info is showing in the camcorder viewfinder/lcd display but not on the captured video.     - Pappa John, someone, I need your help! DVD stutters I've had my DVD burner for several months and have burned many data and audio CDs sucessfully. After importing my digital video into MM2, I edited a short 2 1/2 minute clip that I will need in an upcoming court appearance. I brought the file into WinDVD and burned it to a DVD-R. Previously, I had burned it to SVDC as well. My computer plays the file just fine but none of the cds nor the DVD will play (in the computer drives) without some jerky motion. The DVD will play in a home DVD player, however but if I pause the disk, it won't step forward or backward from that pause point. I have to press stop and then play from the beginning. Not good enough. After I burned the DVD, my computer has not been the same. It slowed down to a crawl and I re-booted to multiple errors, missing files, etc. Now, when I re-boot, CHKDSK runs EVERY time. The computer seems otherwise healthy now but I'm afraid to burn another DVD. The hdds pass Maxtor's tests. The system has three fast hard drives, plenty of speed, memory and graphics capabilities and is defragged. I need to be able to produce a DVD that can be paused and shown frame by frame "to the judge" in order to make my point in court, so this is pretty important to me right now.     - Is it possible to remove a text line Hi All, I have created a video project in Movie Maker. It is saved as a project. The project contains some short videos and some still pictures. After I opened the project, I moved one of the short videos to another part of the project but the text that was written 'on the clip' did not move with it. It remained in the same place as I originally had the associated video. Now that the associated video is moved, the text doesn't make sense over the 'new picture(s)'. I hope this makes sense, I am not sure how to explain it. Is there any way to either remove the original 'title on the selected clip' or 'change/edit' the original text?? It works OK in "video settings, other settings", but not in "best quality(recommended)" as I get message "..video device in use, close other applications using device". Hi

I think the problem is the resolution changes once you enlarge them
(Obviously) There is a progam around called Focus Fixer if the image is out
of focus. Other wise reduece the size of the image and it will display
smaller but hopefully clearer...

The preview window uses working resoltion of 320x240 in low-quality. Even
when you do full-screen, it only uses that resolution.

The output movie will be rendered in the full quality mode.
