    - Collection Created in MM1 and now trying to access them in MM2 Hi. I've spent countless hours creating my collections of movie clips in MM1 and now I got another (more powerful and newer) computer that has MM2 on it. When I opened up MM2, none of my collections were there- but I could get the video I captured from my video camera (but it was clipped). I jumped on the forum and read papajohn's post re: getting the collection backup file (mine was called "Windows Movie Maker.COL" since it was a MM1 file). When I tried to paste the file in the recommended folder... \Documents and Settings\UserAccountName\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Movie Maker...but I didn't even have a folder for Movie Maker. Thus, I created one in the Microsoft Folder so that the path would be duplicated as recommended. However....no collections are still present. Any tips on getting a .col file to work in MM2?     - Questions about Movie Maker I would like to burn a slide show of family pictures onto a DVD...but Nero's DVD creation software is not quite up to par. I would like to use Windows Movie Maker to create an MPEG of my slides. But I have a few questions/problems: 1) I have Windows Movie Maker installed, but it's version 1. I am unable to locate version 2 in Windows Update. What's going on? 2) When I preview slides in Movie Maker, and click the Full Screen button, my images (JPG) are extremely pixellated and jagged. 3) Is Movie Maker this plain? How do I insert transitions? How do I control the delay for each image in the slide show? How do I get into the in-depth control of my project? 4) Are there any freeware applications out there (or unrestricted trials) that will allow me to create a pleasant-looking slide show to convert to MPEG?     - Importing JPEGs when importing mixed JPEGs (vertical and horizontal JPEGs) and Videos into WMM, vertical JPEGs are filled into a standardized size (for horizontal Js) so that there remaines a black frame at the left and right side.     - no vidow dislpay in view field I have fire wire hooked to a JVC-DVL520U, the computer recognizes the DV CAM but when I go to capture the video output from play, there is no video display and it will not capture, the controls under Movie Maker can control the DV Cam, I have SP2, I have used the DV cam on my laptop so I knopw the Cam works. I have replaced all the drivers updated everything I can think of but no Video out. I hooked up a web cam and get video displayed in the view feid. I am going to try replacing my fire wire card.     - Movie Maker 2.1 Crashing I'm not sure if the problem I'm having is related to XP SP 2 or not because I think it might've been happening before that. The problem I have is that Movie Maker hangs and does not respond. This primarily happens when I'm in the process of capturing video. I'm able to capture video if I do short clips, but the longer I go into the process, the more of a chance there is that it will crash. One way I can tell that it's about to crash is if no preview is being displayed when I'm playing the video on the camcorder (not capturing). It has crashed at other times as well, but it crashes just about every time I try to capture something. I have a Sony Digital 8 Camcorder and I'm capturing through a firewire. It seems that somehow the camcorder and my computer stop communicating during the process. However, I've done a test capture using WinDV, and it seems to work fine.     - audio stops working half way into WMM(2.1) Hi. I previously converted my quicktime video files to avi., and they eventually imported fine into WMM however about half way into the video the sound stops.     - Mpeg 1- Mpeg 2 -SVD- DVD ? When you make an SVD or a DVD with TPMG it converts it to an Mpeg 2 which the CDEasy program wont work with. CDEasy says it only uses Mpeg 1.     - produced dvd will not play properly Ihave taken all your advice which has been most helpfull,and now have managed to creat movie in mm2, save to file in avi and using tmpegnc have converted to m/peg2 and burnt to dvd using power producer which came with the computer . The dvd plays on my ronin p215f but both video and audio seem to stop and start as if in slow motion but not ,as if it jumps from frame to frame and audio , the disc will play on the computer ok. IT is a disc problem as it is the same on another player,is it the encoding ,or codecs, but i dont know about codecs, could it be the power producer should i get another burn package like nero what does anyone suggest that may help as i have spent days and nights trying in vein to sort this out.     - Loosing Entire Audio / Music when using slo motion clips in AVI ou I am trying to make a Youth Sports highlight music video. If I try to export to DV-Tape or any AVI based file, I loose the entire Audio / Music part ONLY during the slow motion parts. Audio is fine any other time. I need the AVI based file to be able to burn a DVD. WMV versions run fine. I have captured the clips from my sony TVR740 thru sony DV-Motion via (1394) on a VAIO desktop. The clips I am having problems with contain parts of it in Slow Motion. (I play the cam corder tape in slow motion, and have DV motion capture it that way.) I then import the clip, (the video clip's audio naturally mutes when in the slo motion parts.) ( I have also tried to Mute the Video sound track without any improvement) I have imported a MP.3 music file for the Audio/ Music track. (Have tried replacing with a Wav file without any Improvement) Playback on the PC (preview) or to a WMV is fine. Surely someone else out there captures clips in Slo Motion. Help!! Thanks, G.     - Converting NTSC into PAL Hello, I created an NTSC VCD in the following three steps: 1. Captured and edited movie using WMM in DV-AVI mode. 2. Used TMPGEnc to create an MPEG-1 file specifying NTSC mode. 3. Used VCD Easy to burn an NTSC VCD. Now, I want to create an exactly same PAL VCD.     - Slide show works now but poor video Thanx to Papa Johns posts I figured out how to make a slide show work from my DVD player. First I used the TPMG encoder to make an Mpeg 1 then I used the CDEasy software link I found on Johns web site. I was thrilled that it worked but the pics during the slide show are very poor quality. I use a 3.1 mp dig cam and the pics were taken on the lowest resolution setting. Could the low resolution setting be the reason for the poor quality? I can increase the resolution but then I only get about 20 pictures. It only has an 8 meg CF card and it only supports up to a 32 mg. Should I get a new camera that supports more memory and use it on the high resolution setting? Or......should I save the movie file as an DV-AVI file and then make an Mpeg 2 and then use the CDEasy softwware?     - Movie wont play on DVD player I made a slide show movie using .Jpg files and .MP3 files. I saved it to the computer then burned it to a CD-R. The problem is it wont play on my DVD player. The DVD player is High MAT compatible and High MAT is enabled. I did manage to get a slide show movie to play with no music but I want the music too.     - Movie Maker - Error Message PROBLEM: I keep getting the following error message when attempting to use Movie Maker 2.1 to catpure VHS to DVD - " THE VIDEO DEVICE CANNOT BE USED A THIS TIME BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN AN ERROR WHEN STARTING THE DEVICE:. OBJECTIVE: To record my old VHS tapes, full length, to DVD for safekeeping and also to create MPEG-2 movie clips from these VHS tapes for import/editing with mixed photo/video productions. BACKGROUND: I have a Dell XPS Media Center packaged PC. I have Media Center Edition (MCE) 2004 with the ATI e-Home Wonder PCI TV Tuner card installed. I am wired from ny VCR's (JVC HR-3912U) S-Video OUT to the S-Video IN on the tuner card and the L/R Audio OUT is wired to the tuner card with single stero jack. The VCR is wired to my cable box using the appropriate S-Video & L/R Audio wiires to receive TV programs (RF is disconnected). After starting MCE MyTV, I receive pciture/audio just fine so I assume nothing is wrong with the tuner card. I recently downloaded Service Pack 2 which inlcuded the Movie Maker 2.1 PRODEDURES I FOLLOWED LEADING UP TO ERROR: 1. I started Movie Maker 2.1 ok 2. I selected the Capture from Video Device wizard 3. Under [Available devices:] I selcted [ATI e-home Wonder Capture ICON] 4. Under [Audio input source:] I selected [Anolog Mix] 5. Under (Video input source:] I selected [S-Video] 6. I enterred the file name to capture video. 7. After hitting NEXT the above error message appears.     - Restore deleted wmv I need to restore a deleted wmv file for my movie to work because I didnt realise that the clips wouldnt work without the media player file. So, Im in a bit of a pickle here. Anyone no if this is possible? I emptied the recycle bin so Im afraid that the computer has used the file already but I ave not yet defragged.     - Saved Video - Negative Color ?? I have a Bt848 based video capture card. Old and unsupported now days. But i works none the less with DScaler and seems to work ok with Widows Movie Maker. I've been able to capture video, the video in the preview and playback window appear ok, proper color etc - inside the Movie Maker program. But when I save the captured AVI / Movie or look at the AVI directly with WM9 Player the video is a negative ( or appears to be ) of the original. Suggestions ?     - MM2 Doesn't See the Disc I've successfully created a movie in MM2 (first one ever) and want to burn it to a recordable CD. The issue I'm having is that when I click 'Recordable CD', I get a message that there is no disc in the recordable CD drive. I've placed a brand new CD-R in the burner and I know the burner works because Roxio will burn to it all day long no problem. I've checked the recording properties of the drive to make sure that it has the check box for 'Enable CD recording on this drive'. I'm stumped at this point.     - Very Fast (3-4x) Capture Speed When capturing digital video from my Sony Digital Handicam 730, I am trying to capture and work as DV-AVI so I can have the best quality and burn DVD's. When using this setting, the video is captured at 3-4 times the correct speed. When I capture at the "High Quality Video" setting, the video captures properly. I am running Windows XP SP2 on a 2.8 mhz PC with 1GB of RAM and over 30GB or empty, unfragmented disk space.     - Why Does The wmv size get so big ? In a new project I import two wmv screen-capture clips made with Media Encoder, each is 270K. I drag both onto the timeline, add a simple title, fade-in and fade-out for each clip, no audio, music. I save the movie using the "Best Quality" setting. The original 270 k clips are full-size renderings of excellent quality. The Movie Maker output wmv is 18 meg, half the size or the originals and of poorer video quality. What am I doing wrong here?     - quick help needed, timeline was shrunk physically, can't see transitions I put together a movie with variuos transitions into other clips and stuff. I saved my file closed wmm2. When I came back, the time line was so small. Where before 8 minutes was my whole program screen wide (at 1200 resolution) now it's 16 minutes wideand I can barely see the transition icons so it's hard for me to edit the short clips.     - Help in saving the movie ANYWHERE!! We have been working on saving a project with little success. We did send it to the DV camera and copied to VHS tape but had to add a black tile at the beginning of the project because the vcr cut off the first few seconds of the movie. We added a 5 second black clip to the project and have had no luck in trying to send it back to the camera again. Hi, i'm making a video with MM2 from some .jpg that have a resolution that
exceed 1024x768 but when i save the video on my hard disk and play it, the
image in full screen is not in 1024x768 but in 640x480 or at most 720x550.
I need to make a video that mantain the .jpg size and quality (at least
1024x768), how i can do this?
I'm waiting for a resolution, thanks.
