I am making a video on mircosoft movie maker and my imported video clips
don't show up as video, only audio. The videos play, but the screen is black
and only the sound can be heard. When I try and add it to the storyline, it
adds in the audio section. The files work as videos on windows media player
and other programs, but not on movie maker. Even files I imported a while ago
that work as videos on other previously made "movies" only show up with sound
now. Why does this happen and what can I do to fix it? Thanks very much!

You may have some incompatibility issues
with your source files. Have a look at the
following article:

Thank you very much, that could very well be the problem. The suggestion on
the page was to convert the files to wmv, how do I do that? My computer
doesn't just let me save the files as a different format, at least not that I
have found.

There are links on the site I posted
that lead to solutions. What format
is your file currently in?

Maybe you could use the freeware
'Super' to convert the file.

SUPER © Simplified
Universal Player Encoder & Renderer
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/SUPER
(the mirror download site is faster)

Here's a free online converter that might
work for you:

MediaConvert

Thank you so much! My video works perfectly now!
By the way, one last question, how can I burn my video to a dvd so that it
can play on a dvd player, not just on the computer? Thanks so much!

You need DVD Authoring software...
Nero, Roxio, ULead, WinDVD, etc...etc...

Or...maybe the following freebie would
be worth a try:

DVD Flick
http://www.dvdflick.net/

Be sure to read the Guide:
