When I open up a video file for editing there is no
footage in the preview window. Instead the video opens up
in an ActiveWindow seperate from the Movie Maker program.
This makes it harder to edit as I have to switch between
windows to pause, play and split the video footage. Is
there a simple way to stop this new window opening and
having the video footage playback in the preview window?

Scott, actually I am having the same problem. I have an ATI 9800 All in wonder graphics card with TV input, so I can use my computer to record shows. I think its a compatibility problem with the graphics card, and I am not sure how to change that yet

I tried downloading and reinstalling MM2 but that doesn't work, nor does changing the resolution of the monitor.

If you do figure this out please let me know and I will do the same. There are other problems with my MM2 also but it is probably all related
