I just received my upgrade XP disc from Microsoft to
upgrade to Movie Maker2 and Windows Media 9, I currently
had Movie Maker. My question is that when I go into MM,
it seems to be the old version. I am trying to save a
project to an .avi format, I am under the impression that
MM2 will do this, where the old version did not. Do I
need to uninstall the old version of MM? (it was installed
with XP when I bought the PC). I hesitate to do this as I
do not want to delete shared files.

check the Setup > Software page of my website for a list of the file names,
dates, sizes.

save a copy of the moviemk.exe file - it's the only one you might need to
revert back if you need to.
