I want to be able to uninstall Windows Movie Maker from
Windows XP entirely and keep Windows XP Home from
restoring those files automatically. How do I do that?

You can't totally remove Movie Maker, but you can revert to version 1. See
the Problem Solving > Go Back to MM1 page of www.papajohn.org
