Hi,
We are using a Samsung digital camcorder (SC X105). We are having a problem
editing the video.
1. Unable to capture from the camera
2. If downloaded to computer through USB, if imported to windows movie
maker, video comes up with a green screen and if spliced, will play fine.
But, if edited and spliced at the splice point, it will play a green screen
with audio.

We do not have a "fire cable". We have upgraded our RAM and are using what
our IT guy said is "a pretty damn good video card".

All of you guys seem very helpful and I hope you guys can help!
Cheers, Sean

Sean,
MM is designed for use with a firewire cable, so I'd suggest spending just a
few pounds/dollars and buying one or a card as well if your computer does
not already have firewire installed.

Hi Graham,
Thanks for the help. How do you know if your computer has a card? What
kind of firewire cable should one buy? How do we know it is compatible with
our digital camcorder?
Sorry for the multitude of questions, this is all new to me!

Look on the camera for a port labeled IEEE or DV or iLink and that would be
the firewire port.
Also look on the back of your computer for a port labeled one of the same or
check your computer documentation. As far as which to buy take your camera
with you to get your new cable and if you need the card the people at the
computer store will set you up with the right one.
