why when i transfer from the dv camera conection to the pc usb firewire the
image in the very bad. What i can do to transfer the same quality of image of
the camera to the pc.

First of all which one is it USB or Firewire?

What settings are you choosing when you capture?

Have you tried another setting or have you tried a different cable?

Wojo - you seem to know about the Movie maker. I am new. I have an AVI file
that was made on a portable recording unit at 480X640. I transferredd it to
my PC as an AVI file. I imort the AVI file into MM and it will ply the novie
in the player. But when I insert it into the stroy board/timeline, it seems
to play but there is no video in the player - just a black screen with audio
in the background. Same if I break it into clips - the clips will play in
the player but not in the story. Any sage advice??

Hi Gary,
I would have to guess that it is a codec issue.
There are many different codec's used to make AVI files so you would need to
find out which codec was used and download it.
To find out you can use a program called GSpot.
