    - Pappa John, someone, I need your help! DVD stutters I've had my DVD burner for several months and have burned many data and audio CDs sucessfully. After importing my digital video into MM2, I edited a short 2 1/2 minute clip that I will need in an upcoming court appearance. I brought the file into WinDVD and burned it to a DVD-R. Previously, I had burned it to SVDC as well. My computer plays the file just fine but none of the cds nor the DVD will play (in the computer drives) without some jerky motion. The DVD will play in a home DVD player, however but if I pause the disk, it won't step forward or backward from that pause point. I have to press stop and then play from the beginning. Not good enough. After I burned the DVD, my computer has not been the same. It slowed down to a crawl and I re-booted to multiple errors, missing files, etc. Now, when I re-boot, CHKDSK runs EVERY time. The computer seems otherwise healthy now but I'm afraid to burn another DVD. The hdds pass Maxtor's tests. The system has three fast hard drives, plenty of speed, memory and graphics capabilities and is defragged. I need to be able to produce a DVD that can be paused and shown frame by frame "to the judge" in order to make my point in court, so this is pretty important to me right now.     - SP@ and movie maker I'm just wondering if my WMM2.1 is installed properly after the SP2 update. I've read that there is supposed to be a third tab with codecs listed that you can check and uncheck. I do not have that third tab but I do have all the files listed on Papa Johns website in the WMM folder. eg wwm2res.dll dated 4/8 etc. When I go to the help section on the tool bar at the top and click on "About WMM" it comes up as version 5.1(......SP2) Windows Movie Maker version 2.03312.0 This sounds like I am not completely installed??     - Make music video? I saw how to create a music video using the music recorded during the scene, but would like to use a song from a CD that was recorded and mixed in a studio. The action was performed to the song and we see the lead girl singing in many different scenarios. The goal is to snip here and there, while keeping the lips in sync?     - An unknown error has occurred I am attempting to use Windows Movie Maker for the first time with a Canon Optura DV camera connected to an IEEE 1394 port. I am running Windows XP Home, SP1 with 1GB of RAM and a 1GHz P4 processor.     - Unable to import Audio to WMMo with the help of this board I was able to convert files accetable to WMM. I used application suggested EM on 8/19/2004 "Problems with MOV Resolved.     - Is it possible to remove a text line Hi All, I have created a video project in Movie Maker. It is saved as a project. The project contains some short videos and some still pictures. After I opened the project, I moved one of the short videos to another part of the project but the text that was written 'on the clip' did not move with it. It remained in the same place as I originally had the associated video. Now that the associated video is moved, the text doesn't make sense over the 'new picture(s)'. I hope this makes sense, I am not sure how to explain it. Is there any way to either remove the original 'title on the selected clip' or 'change/edit' the original text?? All I seem to be able to do is 'add' and that just adds to the confusion. It seems there must be a way but I just cannot find it! Please can anyone help???     - File Size Limitations on MS Movie Maker files System Info: 1.4 Ghz machine, Windows XP op Sys. 512 MB Ram Background: I recently dumped the Windows Milenium OS and had installed the Windows XP in hopes that i could get Movie maker working. It helped tremedously for now I could compile movies w/o getting errors. I ran my first trial movie (actually a 20 minute slide show with music) it was large, but it compiled high quality, large file at 69 MB. After this, I continued to restore my PC from the OS installation, and added other S/W including MS Works. Now my movie file, eventhough it is basically the same compostion project as the original seems to be limited to near 50 MB. The program works fine for about 9 to 11 minutes and then the music continues, but the slides discontinue to flow (either it freezes on the last slide or it goes black) I have tried several attempts since the original and all have the same symptoms and all fall in the range of 48 MB to 51.5 MB I have tried other output formats too, NTSC for example, all high quality, but the same results.     - More audio help PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!~ I still can't get my audio to inport in with the video. Someone last night suggested the following: to no avail. Where is my SYSTEM TRAY? WHen I go thru the action of importing the video, it DOES give me the option to select mon, stereo, line, etc. but after trying each one, no go. The sound works great ON the camcorder, just can't seem to get it into the computer. Help! I'm on a time crunch! ______________________________ If you are having trouble with audio input, make sure that the black cable is plugged into either the Microphone or Aux input in your sound card. Once that is done, double click on your sound icon in the System Tray. Your master volume window will open. Click on Options then Properties, then Recording. Make sure that at least Stereo Mix, Aux, Line In, Microphone are checked. Click OK. If you have Stereo Mix available (not all systems do) have that selected (check mark in the white box at the bottom) otherwise select the device input that you have your black cable plugged into (mic or aux or line-in). When you click Capture from video device, you should see your audio card's specifications in the first screen. Audio Input source should be Stereo Mix or Microphone or Line In or Aux, depending what you selected above.     - Insert Editing I am editing a video which is an interview between two people. I need to retain all of the audio track but replace some of the video with other shots (such as trees, beach scene, car etc) as those topics are mentioned in the audio.     - Buzzing noise when capturing analogue video I am capturing VHS analogue video from a VCR via a Miglia Directors Cut SCARt converter into Windows MM. But when I replay the video I get a constant buzzing noise over the other audio sounds.     - Can't make good titles... Am using MS Movie Maker 2, and having a title problem. When I insert a simple title at the front of the movie (click "Make titles" > "add at beginning" ), it seems to try to center the title vertically...I can't push it to the bottom of the screen. Sure, you can adjust it *horizontally* by specifying left, right, or center, but I would like to make a title be at the very bottom-right. If I were in something like Word, I'd just hit return a few times and the text would work its way down to the bottom of the page...but that has no effect in MM2. Any suggestions? Am using WinXP-pro PC that came with MS Movie Maker 2, and using a Sony digital camcorder, would greatly appreciate insights from pro's on... -I'd like to "convert" my old VHS tapes to digital. I see this question has been asked but I'm not clear about the answer.

I have a Sony TRV325 and am capturing via firewire to MM2. The time/date
stamp info is showing in the camcorder viewfinder/lcd display but not on the
captured video. Am I doing something wrong or is it not possible to display
the date/time info on captured video without using some other utility?

Hi Jon --

Movie Maker only uses the date/time stamp (stored per frame in DV-AVI files)
when creating clips; there is currently no functionality in Movie Maker to
get it to display as an overlay on the video.

Perhaps someone else can recommend a utility that will let you encode the
Date/time stamp as a text on the video?
