Thank you for all of you assitance in trying to get to the bottom of my
JVC-DV issues. Unfortunately -- I am still in a holding pattern and may just
break down and buy a Mac or a new Digital Video Recorder - in the meantime I
have tapes of great family memories that I will need to take to a
professional. : ( This is rather discouraging.

I have caught the attention of a JVC tech and hope that they can help me - I
actually forwarded all of the information you provided me to them and am
still awaiting a reply.

Again, Thank you!

Let me have a go as well.

1. Try executing the following batch file after closing as many applications
as you can. It fixes some DLL registrations issues and has been helpful to
many people in similar situation before:

2. Does your camcorder has a USB connection? Can you capture using USB. This
would determine if the problem is specific to firewire or not.

3. Take your camcorder to a firiends place and try capturing on their
system. If it works there then it determines that the problem is in your PC,
not in the camcorder.

Hope it helps.
