Stripping audio from vid/aud combo

I have captured from my DV video and audio combined as an AVI file. I can
drag into WMM OK.
How can I get the audio as a separate file, for example a WAV file. Do I
need to play back the video in Media Player and capture the audio using
something like Total Recorder?

You can move the AVI file into the Audio/Music track instead of the video
track.... and then save the movie. With no video on the timeline, MM2 will
treat it as audio only and give you a set of options for a WMA file.

If you need a WAV file, use TMPGEnc with either an AVI file or WMV..... and
save it as a WAV.
