Ok, I've looked all over this really weak help service,
only to find people complaining that they can't lock
their audio and video together. My problem is that
they're locked and I can't get them to unlock. I've been
forced to go back to Adobe. Maybe I should start looking
into a mac. How do you split apart the audio from
video...why isn't there just a little lock beside the two
of them showing their connected. You need to work on your
GUI Mr.Gates.

There is a little expansion icon next to the word Video in the timeline
view..... if you expand the track, it'll show the 3 sub-tracks of Video,
Transitions, and Audio. And it'll give you the visual that they are
connected.

To split them apart, mute the audio by right clicking it and selecting Mute.

Then copy the same clip to the Audio/Music track. It'll use just the audio
of the clip and let you handle it independently of the video track.... split
it, position it, etc.
