    - Problems viewing Images in storyboard I am having problems viewing the images in my movie. If I click on the image in the collection it views fine. But once I add it to my storyboard I can't see them. the slide is just black. Audio plays fine just not the images.     - Beginning Problems with Movie Maker I have never been able to figure out Movie Maker. 1) It keeps asking me to save my movie on a CD, but don't I have to save it on a DVD - if my movie has a picture and sound. It doesn't give me the option to save my movie on a DVD... and 2) When I try to save it on my computer, it comes out almost like a visualization... It's like a vague painting of my movie in action, and no longer looks like a movie. Any help would be appreciated by this novice who has spent hours at this and is still confused. Thanks.     - Burning to a CD-R? I've been trying to burn my video, (music with pictures). Once I go to save CD, I am told that a CD can not be found. I've even tried using a DVD-R. I used troubleshooting questions to find my answer; I was told to remove HP DLA from my computer. I followed the steps and I could not find that to remove. PLEASE HELP!     - Editing Imported Video Could anyone explain the mystery as to why when I play or import video that was recorded on my set top DVD from my set top VCR they playback on my comuter with a distortion line at the bottom and a 2 inch darkend border on the right side? Tapes that I am dubbing to DVD are not copy protected prerecorded, they are just VHS tapes of old programs and home movies. If I am only recording television programs with my set top DVD recorder from the cable line they play and import perfectly into my pc. Can anyone direct me to a fix for this or know of a solution to this problem? I am running Windows XP MCE SPII The software that I import my DVD's into and with is ArcSoft Showbiz DVD2 Media used is Imation DVD+R and DVD+RW Thank you in advance for all your help!     - Rendering Difficulties with Movie Maker 5.1 I am attempting to edit and save/render a video file for a webinar my company recently conducted. I've successfully edited my file. However when I save it, the estimated time creeps up and up into the hundreds/thousands of minutes and percentage completion doesn't get past 6% or so. It never makes any progress. CPU utilization is 0-2% for Movie Maker during this time. I would expect something much higher. The source file is wmv, with only three minor edits in he beginning - Clipped the start time and then clipped out .75 sec w/in the first 5 seconds. Original run time is 48 mins. file size is 39.9MB, frame rate is 29.97 and ave data rate is 14KB/second. I'm attempting to render to WMV at broadband rates of 150kbps w/ 15fps. I get the same result whether the file is edited or not, or if I save the unedited file as AVI or WMV. Computer is XP SP 2 Dual core 2.2GHz w/ 2GB RAM.     - Cannot open project, WMM keeps prompting to close Can anyone help? I've created a very long project in WMM and saved it to my desktop. (although I have not yet finalised it in into a movie). When I go to open up the project, the progress bar (showing the project opening) only runs up to halfway then I get a message saying "Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." this then follows with another error message saying "moviemk.exe - Application Error, the instruction at 'ox05481469' referenced memory at '0x00000000'. The memory could not be 'read'. Click on OK to terminate the program, Click on CANCEL to debug the program." I have clicked on both the OK and the CANCEL and the system just closes. I have read a few messages posted by others users on this site relating to this same problem and I have uninstalled Internet Explorer 7 (which I had installed whilst I made the project), I have rebooted my laptop and then tried to re-open the project and the problem is still occuring. I have enough free space on my disk drive and really cannot understand why this problem keeps occuring. I must say even during making the project I got the same error messages. My project is about 8hours in length, and contains jpeg photos, music and video recordings. The project has taken me an awful long time to make so I really do not want to start it from scratch. Thankfully I have saved my project, but for the life of me it I just can't get it open. Anyone's comments and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!     - WMM 6, Vista Home Premium can't import files from Canon DC50 I have a HP Pavilion dv9628nr laptop with 4GB memory andVista Home Premium. My camcorder is a Canon DC50 DVD recorder. I cannot get the Movie Maker 6 that came with the Vista to import .vob, IFO or BUP. files from the Camera DVD when in the camera or when I mount the DVD in the DVD R/W drive on the laptop.     - video quality after importing clip in movie maker After I import a wmv clip into movie maker, there are instances when the video image goes black, completely black or sometimes some pixels go black, almost as if the image breaksdown, the audio is fine, just the video image.     - Can't download videos from YouTube. I'm not sure if this is the correct group for this problem. If it isn't please direct me. I can't save videos from YouTube. Here are the 3 ways I've tried and the results of each attempt. 1. With YouTube Downloader. I enter the YouTube video URL and click "OK". I get the error message, "Unable download remote file, try again!" 2. With Save2pc. I enter the YouTube video URL and click "Start". I get the error message, "HTTP/1.1 500 Server Error Error 3" 3. With Firefox and its DownloadHelper plu-in. I go to the YouTube video. The DownloadHelper icon is animated, indicating that it's working. The video plays through. But the dwhelper folder, which is the default save location, is empty. Does anyone here know how to save videos using these applications or, failing that, can someone recommend a freeware application that works for this?     - Shadow on font I created a slide show in XP and all was fine. Now I have a new computer... VISTA Ultimate... copied slide show to new computer. When I play it now, most of the title screens display a "shadow" on the lettering that wasn't there with the original show. I can't find a way to change/eliminate the shadow.     - a simple avi file is distorted in wmm.how can I amend this? I am making a simple video. I am putting all the pictures together and one short 3.30 sec avi.file. In the preview, the avi file looks distorted. But in a Powerpoint or in WMP its beautiful. Do I need to adjust the proportions of the avi file so that it doesn't look distorted and how do I do this?     - External Hard Drive for WMM? I read a lot about having an USB 2.0 hard drive that you can store you projects on. I Understand how this can be effective in saving and what not. What I dont understand is say the External Drive is Drive G: and My main hard drive (that WMM is on is C:) Even though WMM is looking at Drive G: when you load the project doesnt it still have to USE C: because WMM is on that drive. ANd thus still have to share space and be slow ETC? Or am I missing something that by saving your project on the G: Drive that WMM only looks there and becomes more efficient.     - Cannot Save To My Computer TOk, so I have made a video that is 10 min, 50 seconds long, and im trying to figure out why it won't let me save my video to ANYTHING. I want to save to my computer, it wont let me do that so ive tried everything besides saving to a disk. This is the steps i have taken, tell me if im wrong. 1. Save to My Computer 2. Save Video To My Videos 3.Movie Settings (Set to Large Quality) says file size may vary based on content of the saved movie.     - Canon ZR930 with Movie Maker & XP? Hi, We have XP-SP2 & MM5.1 running on a Dell D630, and a brand new Canon ZR930, and can't seem to download the video to our computer. We have the correct cable. We can link with and control the camera.     - Burning WMM movie to a disc I have recently made an extremely LONG project in WMM, the movie consists of about 6 possibly 7 hours of video files (in AVI format), some opening and closing credits, some photos and some music. As yet, I have not finalised the project into a Movie (as I know it will take a very long time to do) but once it finally is a movie, I would like to be able to burn the movie to disc without having to fit it on several discs (if that is at all possible!?). Or should I save it to my computer first as opposed to saving it straight to disc? I know definitely 7 hours of video in AVI format would easily take up more than 1 disc, but I just don't want to have about 4 discs of 1 movie (as the video footage is of a 4 day event, so don't really don't want it spread over more than 3 discs). Is there an option in WMM to finalise the movie to another format (like MPEG-2 to use less disks) without losing too much of the video quality?     - re-imported tape, now clips are off I re-imported a tape that had more video added to it. I deleted the original import and named the new import the old tape's name. I was assuming that since WMM will only import from the beginning of the tape that all the old clips should sync to the new import. Apparently they do not. They are off by two minutes for some reason. The project that has the old clips (when it is opened) has the correct picture of the original clip for about 10 seconds and then it is replaced with picture of the wrong clip. Why are my clips' times off if it is the same tape from the beginning? How is WMM seeing the correct clip preview for the fist few seconds of the project opening? I am trying to make a video and am having a problem. I have imported a video
clip form my D-Camera into MM2. If I play the file from the collections menu,
the sound plays fine. But when I add it to the storyboard there is no sound
during playback. Also, if I save the movie to a file, there is no sound. Any
suggestions?
