I find it impossible to convert my video film so that I can edit it with
Movie Maker. My camera is a Sony handycam DCR-SR35E. The files appear to be
.mpg. When I try to import them into Movie Maker I get the message: â??[the
file could not be imported]. An interface has too many methods to fire events
fromâ??
I have now downloaded Windows Media Encoder. When I try to convert these
files I get the error message: â??Windows Media Encoder has encountered a
problem and needs to closeâ?¦â?¦â?¦â??
I am stuck. Is there someone who has encountered the same problem and solved
it?

I use VirtualDub for MPEG2 with the WMV 9 codec to convert my .mpg files to
.avi that is compatible with Windows Movie Maker. VDub is free and found
