My daughter is putting together a slide show of photos for her senior class
with background music using WMM version 5.1. When I save it to a movie file
and play the wmv back it will stop on one slide and not go to the next while
the time and music continue as they are supposed to. Is there something I can
change to fix this? The slide show is about 60 minutes long and the save
process appears to run smoothly. The error has occured on different slides at
different time periods into the show. Thanks.

Sounds like the problem most people have with a file format mismatch, this
should help.

Thanks Graham,
Short of converting 400 photos to bitmaps or starting over in Photo Story
any other suggestions?

MP3 is the worst file to use, so if you've used that as your music, that's
where I'd start.

If that doesn't work, 400 pictures is an awfully large project for MM, so
I'd split your project into say 4 and see if the individual ones work ok. If
they do, save all 4, then join up the 4 dv.avi or wmv files you've made into
one big file.

Well I'd start by converting say 10 pictures and do a test project.

If it works, then you can use an autofeature in apps like irfanview
http://www.myvideoproblems.com/WebPages/UsefulProgrammes.htm
Which will batch change all your pics.
Then you can try to fool MM into thinking your bitmaps are your jpegs, by
renaming them to jpeg .
