I appear to have successfully burnt my .avi MM2 movie to a DVD-R using the
trial version of Ulead Movie Factory. It plays back fine on my computer, but
not on my DVD player, which as far as i can tell accepts DVD-R. I have also
tried to burn on DVD+RW but Ulead does not recognise this. Any ideas please.

I'm having the same problem with moviemaker, if and when I get it figured out
I'll let you know.

Sounds to me like you are just burning the .avi file to a DVD as data. You
need to 'author' the DVD so that it is compatable with your personal player.
Your pc is just playing the data file.

Sounds to me like you are just burning the data file (.avi) to a DVD. You
must 'author' a DVD for it to play on a personal player.
