    - I have made a movie and saved it to my computer My problem is that I cannot copy to a DVD that will play on my DVD player (works with DVD+RW or DVD TV. However it will play on my computer. It is a present for my daughter's 40th birthday with old slides scanned and transferred from another system, photos , music and comments.     - importing dvr-ms (vista home premium) I have Vista Home Premium I used to be able to import .dvr-ms files into movie maker 6 easily and edit them Now, when I import, it only takes about 10 seconds, then there is just an imported file that is the length of what I have but there is no audio or video.     - problem with finished project; hangs on one frame For a year now I've been working on a slide show with music and transitions for my in-laws 50th anniversary. I've saved it to my computer and a cd, but when I try to play them they only get so far (one gets 10 min in and the other gets halfway through the 47 min.) then it freezes on one frame and continues to play the music. I'm not even sure if it's saved right. It's impossible for me to start over, but is there any way to export it to another program that works better.     - Windows DVD Maker Shuts Down Computer I have Windows Vista Home Premium (there's apparently no newsgroup for Windows Movie Maker or Windows DVD Maker on Windows Vista) and I've created a nine-segment storyboard in WMM that covers about an hour and a half. I inserted a blank DVD-R disc in the drive and selected DVD under Publish To. I select Ok to open up Windows DVD Maker and select to burn the DVD. It progresses along fine for a short while until it gets to the 5.6% point. Then it abruptly shuts down my computer. What could be the cause of this? Any way to fix this problem? Thanks.     - Music on Pix DVDs I have finished a 14 minute music picture DVD. The preview plays fine on the computer. When I put the DVD into a player (and I have tried several) the music is badly garbled for the first 2-4 minutes (it varies), then straightens itself out and plays fine the rest of the way. I re-burned it several times with the same result. I have looked all over the help sites for assistance on this and have tried several different things.     - Can't Start Movie Maker: "Blocked by Group Policy" Greetings; I used Movie Maker with XP. When I tried to use with Vista, I get the message " This program is blocked by group policy. For more information, contact your system administrator". Since I am my "system administrator" and I have no idea what this means, that advice isn't very helpful. How do I turn on Movie Maker?     - Tivo Desktop Services Conflicts with MM2.1 For info.... I hadn't been able to use Movie Maker's narration feature for a while, getting a message about the audio device being in use by something else. It tuned out the Tivo desktop software added services that turned on automatically at system startup, and by turning them off, Movie Maker was back to being functional.     - Soundtrafk on my video doesn't match the right clips I've never had this happen before. On my current movie, which I downloaded via my :Dazzle" converter, from camcorder to computer, once it completed the transfer, I played the movie and the firsts part of the audio played right on into the second portion and took away that dialogue. So I tried eliminating this by re trasferring the old video, abd beginning at the 2nd section. It continues to keep the dialogue from the deleted portion on it.     - How to Save Movie to DVD I had Movie Maker installed before on my PC when I purchased it 3 years ago. I recently got a virus so I had to restore all the files on my PC with my restore CD.     - Which quality to pick "Capture wizard" burn to DVD, quality looks I have a canon zr800 minidv. I am using xp movie maker to capture the video to computer an then would like to burn to dvd (on occasion would like to edit first). My question is, when the Video capture wizard pops up, I am not sure wich quality to select (dv-avi, high quality ntsc, video for Lan 1.0 Mpbps, etc). I tested several of the different options and the only formats I end up with is avi or wmv format. The video colour and quality does not look that great. Which format do I need, with the goal of eventually getting that video burn on a dvd? Do I need a different software and is there a free one that you can recommend? thanks.     - Video but No Audio I know this subject has been discussed here before, but I'm totally new to Movie Maker and to my Sony camcorder with hard drive, so I'd appreciate if one of you knowledgeable guys out there helped me.     - Movie maker is not connecting to my capture device When i plug in my dazzle capture card i open up movier maker and click on capture from video device. Then a message appears saying "The device is not responding. Close any other application that is using the device and try capturing again."     - not getting full movie in playback after saving Hello, I've tried saving this movie about 5 different times and everytime i play it back there is something different wrong. At first one of the transitions was messed up but now the last 5 minutes of pictures won't play, but the music plays out. This is a combo of pics (jpegs) and music. I'm going to "Save as Movie" and saving it to an external hardrive with plenty of space on it. I'm not getting any error messages. It take about 30 minutes to actually save it and it automatically plays when it's done. What am I doing wrong? Why is it not completely saving and not giving me an error message?? Please help!!!     - File size issue Hi all, I have created a few videos and Im having a problem with the size of them. I'm on a fairly old machine (13gb) using XP. I originally had a huge problem with frame dropping but overcame that by using another program to capture the footage from my camera and then importing it into moviemaker to fiddle with it. Now each file 8 minute piece is over 1gb (in .avi format) - lol .. its putting a strain on my hard drive. I want to decrease the size of each file. Please tell me how to do it - also please tell me whether I would be better off to convert the files to .wmv - or please tell me am I looking at the wrong program altogether.     - I have never been so lost! WMM2.1 Hey! So i had never used windows movie maker or anything before, and i opened it and got the hang of it, i made a movie for my american class! However when i tried to get it onto a dvd i had no idea what to do!     - Translating MOV Files To Something WMM Will Support I have an Olympus Stylus Verve digital camera with video capture abilities. It uploads nicely to my computer, and plays in quicktime and can upload to youtube fine. The only problem I have is that there is no way for me to edit it. WMM won't accept the type of file it is. I think it's a MOV file. Does anyone know how to translate the file so WMM will let me edit it and stuff?     - JPEG Resolution from PPT to MM I've seen the question, but no answer yet on this. I managed to create a moviemaker that solved my music syncing problem with my Powerpoint file, but the resolution of the finished jpegs is AWFUL -- blurry, pink hues on them.     - Captured video being broken into small clips Hi.... I'm running MM 2.1 on XP and capturing video from a Sony HandyCam The video is all captured but gets automatically broken up into clips. e.g....I'm capturing a 25 second (approx) segment of video. This was a continuous shot....there were no breaks in the recording. MM seems to have indiscriminately broken this up into 3 clips. This has happened to other captures I have done.     - New to WMM I just discovered WMM (don't laugh - I've got 3 kids under age 4) and want to make movies from my still digital photos.     - .wmv file HUGE! I just tried the program this week - ALL week - simple, I thought. Take all the pics from the big party, add music and send it to everybody who was here and family who couldn't make it... not. the finished file was nearly 5 mg, but when I saved it as a movie, it ballooned to 15 mg! I tried converting it to avi. then it was 25 mg. Who knew? obviously not I. I can't email it, can't even put it on photobucket - it stops at 61%. i am at a loss with this. Do you think it would decrease the file size if I took the individual photos into Photoshop and reduced them?     - Edit already done movies Hello people. Today is my first day playing with WMM. i like it a lot and get well with the application. Now I've got a question. I 've got a file i want to edit, specifically want to delete a video effect done with letters. the only way i see to do this, is to edit the movie, clip by clip and modify the 25 clips involved in the video effect. that's a lot to do considering that I plan to edit every clip in Paint. and bring it back to the movie.     - burning to a dvd I have been trying for weeks and keep coming up with a BLURRY DVD. When I run the movie as a project - it looks GREAT. I want to loop it and also would LOVE to put it on our big screen tv. When I save the project as a movie - the only way that movie MAKER doesnt FREEZE - is wheN I save it as an email attachment and they save save on my computer from that wizard. they I burn it using many different extensions bought aconverter software- ect. but sill all ways are blurry. When I run the wizard to go to a DVD or to directly save on my computer the software FREEZES up - It is 22 minutes with all still photos and a transition between each one.     - Audio is coming through Mono Only I'm currently trying to create a video using both an avi (video only) and an mp3 sound file. I put them on the story board together and every time i save the file it outputs the audio to only my right speaker. When I save my project as DV-AVI (so I can burn it to a DVD) Movie Maker adds
a clip into the resulting .avi! This doesn't happen when I save the file as a
.wmv. The .wmv file is 6:44 long, and the .avi is 9:37 long. Has anyone seen
this before? Any idea how I can fix this? It is so frustrating!
