Can anyone recommend any good sites for finding free music to add to movies
that might potentially be sold?

Also, why would I bother to 'combine' a couple of clips - I saw it in the
book but cannot see why or where it might assist me. What might happen if I
didnt 'combine' two related clips.

Thanks.

One fewer clip on the timeline is a bit easier on memory usage when
rendering... and if you have DV-AVI source files, and saving to DV-AVI,
you'll have fewer generational losses... see Problem Solving > Video and
Audio issues pages of my site for info about generational losses.

.... and sometimes I split a clip but later wish I had done it at a
different spot. Combining and splitting it again comes in handy.

For video, see also some of the categories under "Moving Images" at
http://www.archive.org/. Some of the SIGGRAPH ones are really cool.

You would combine a clip when it's more convenient to have the footage in
one clip rather than two.

If you don't combine the clips, nothihg happens. You still have two clips.
