Hi all, I am wondering if someone can help me. When I put my digital videos
on to movie maker I can view the first clip but not the rest. I get a message
(unknown error has acured). I can watch the complete video on media player
and when I add the clips to the story board I can sometimes watch the movie.
I hope that make sense....
Please help, also I am using asf files, (would that cause problems)
Thankyou.

Problems viewing digital video on movie maker 2 by David

Hi Tammy,
Would you mind answering the following questions?

1) How were the video files created? (Movie Maker creates
either WMV or AVI files)
2) Is there a different experience when you preview the
clip from the collection versus from the storyboard? If
so, could you explain the difference?

Movie Maker does support .ASF files, but there can be
issues depending on how they were created (what codec is
used).

Thanks!
Dave

Seems like the same problem I have, except no error message on my machine. My
movie files are .MPG's. I can add the first clip and it plays without a
problem. When adding the 2nd clip, nothing happens - Task manager indicates
that the program is not responding. Using .jpg photos works ok.
I'm running movie maker v 2.1.4026.0 as after sp2 install.

Hi David,
The video was made from my digital video camera. When I watch the clips on
the story board I can sometimes see all of the clips, other times I see the
first clip then the screen goes black .Then I get an error message (an
unknown error has accured).
When I click on the collection clips I can never see any clips except the
first one I get the same error message again.
I am new to digital video and I have no idea about which (codec) is being
used is there some way I can find that out.
Thankyou Tammy
