I have a PAL Sony mini DV camera, PAL format. Storing tapes in PAL format
with movie maker is not a problem. However I would like to store videos taken
with a NTSC standard with help of my camera and the movie maker. I can view
the tapes on my camera but cannot see them correct in the movie maker wether
I select (under tools - options-advanced) NTSC or PAL....is there a fix?
Thanks, Dora

You are putting an NTSC tape into a PAL mini DV camera and you can view the
tape OK in the camera but not in WMM.

It would appear that WMM is recognizing your camera as a PAL camera and
treating the video as PAL. So unless your camera is capable of recording in
both PAL and NTSC and you can flick a swith to make it NTSC so that WMM will
recognize it as an NTSC camera, then your only option is to find an NTSC
camera and connect that to your computer.

Bottom line, WMM is recognizing the format of the camera, not the tape.
