Hi all....

I have installed MyDVD version 4.5 which has been recommended by a number of
people in these groups recently (Steve maybe you can help).

It does look good but I have a question about the wizard. The Wizard comes
up with "Welcome to the MyDVD Direct-to-DVD Wizard" and there are three
steps, "select menu style", "choose a name for your project" , and finally
"select the device MyDVD will record to and select the number of copies".

The problem is regardless if I choose to write to DVD or Hard drive the
"next" button never becomes active, the only option I have is to press
cancel where it drops me into MyDVD but then I cannot find a way to remove
the "menu style".

The exact version is 4.5.2 build 81390

Regards,

Paul

Hi Paul,

I haven't used the Direct-to-DVD option. Since you have
said you already played with MM, you would choose the
first option - Modify/Create a DVD project. You import
the video you captured and edited in MM. Try that and let
me know if it works. I tried a Direct-to-VCD option that
came with my Sony and it did not work so I stay away from
those Direct-To options. If you really want to use Direct-
to-DVD, Papajohn might be a better source as he has more
experience with MyDVD than I do.

I'm with you Steve. I create and modify my DVD projects. I've never tried
the Direct to DVD route.

Steve,

Thanks, I was using the wrong option!

The other thing I was not sure about is I cannot find a way to get rid of
the "style" opening menu, is it possible to have it go straight to playing
the captured video?

Regards,

Paul

Paul,

You are basically at the beginning of 'building' your DVD
and its menu page. At the style screen, you can edit tht
title, by clicking to edit the text. Then on the left,
click on GET VIDEO. You'll choose the video you
presumably edited in MM. A button will appear which is
what you would click in your DVD playing software on PC
or DVD player. After the button appears you can edit its
title (it will have the filename). Then click on Preview
at the bottom if you want to view the video. And as I
said, I make smaller movies that fade in/out to black
and 'GET' them separately so that I have multiple buttons
(pseudo chapters). I just make sure that, if I remember
correctly, that when you click burn, a window pops up
that has a check box to "PLAY ALL". That allows the whole
DVD to play continuously. Otherwise, I think, the
inidivual smaller movies will only play one at a time.
Even with Play All chosen, you click on your DVD remote
MENU button and you get the screen with all the buttons
and you can jump to whatever chapter you want.
