Multiple Audio Tracks

Is there support for multiple audio tracks in WMM? I want
to make a sports highlight movie, and I want to have
photographs, music and audio clips from radio commentators.
Is there a way to mix multiple audio tracks within Movie
Maker?

I guess I could always mix the audio tracks together within
Sound Recorder, but it would be difficult to get the audio
clips to sinc up with the images.

If anyone from Microsoft is reading this, ADD SUPPORT FOR
MULTIPLE AUDIO TRACKS!

Hi there,

It is possible with time and patience to create quite complicated audio
overlays in MM2 even though it is meant for the home user.

You can overlay audio tracks on top of each other. Use the zoom in option so
that you can see the audio at its best. I have done this in the past OK. I
found it easier to play with just two tracks at a time in MM2. When those two
tracks are overlaid properly I save the project to DV-AVI and import the result
and continue with the next two tracks etc.

The above method does not reduce the quality of the video provided you save to
DV-AVI....the reason being that no edit occurs on the video itself.

For truly professional results with the audio you would need to upgrade.
Currently I use MovieDV 6 from www.aist.de for anything above that provided by
MM2.

You could create your movie with your audio track superimposed and render
the movie. Then create a new project, import your rendered movie and add
further audio onto the (now empty) audio track. This is not dissimilar to a
technique called "ping pong recording" on audio 4-track mixing equipment
(add tracks, mix down to one track, add new tracks, mix down again, etc.)

Regarding your penultimate paragraph: give the guys a break - it *is* free
you know!
