My MM2 was working fine until recently. Everytime I try to add a transition or an effect. The program just shuts down. Have not been able to find a solution. I have Uninstalled and reinstalled a cple of times but same problem occurs.

Hi Metronome

Mine was working great until I installed Roxio Easy Media Creator V. 7 last week. Now I'm getting intermittent crashes with the "send error report" dialogue coming up. I'm guessing EMC7 installed a codec that doesn't play well with MM2 (EMC7 includes Videowave 7 for movie editing). I also noticed that when I try to play any of the clips that came with the EMC7 content I get an error message from Windows Media Player. I'm going to play with it this week to see if I can resolve what the problem is, but if anyone else has experienced this please chime in

Regards

Gary

Hi there,

This fault/failure is quite common and more often than not indicates
that you have a codec that Movie Maker does not like.

I have written a simple program that deals with this very nicely. Its
called Rename Codecs and it together with a tutorial (very short) on how to
use the program can be obtained from my web site.

Hi there,

If you can find out what codecs EMC7 installs I will add them into my
Rename Codecs program and make an update available.
