Need help with a very basic querstion.. just got a new
SonyVaio that has Movie Maker. Under About Movie Maker it
lists:
Microsoft Windows Movie Maker
Version 5.1(build 2600xpspl,020828-1290 Service pack 1
Windows Movie Maker Version 2.0.3312.0

Do I have Movie Maker or Movie Maker 2? The version says
2 but not the Title.

If I only have Movie Maker, do I just download Movie
Maker 2? Or is there an Upgrade? If an install, will it
overlay my existing program?

Also,I have started some projects already. If I don't
already have MM2, will I be able to open my existing
projects once I upgrade?

My motivation is I need to get the movie I make to a DVD
and I don't think I can do that with Movie Maker.

Cathy,

You already have Movie Maker 2.

Movie Maker will not "make" a DVD. You'll need third party software to do
that. Check out the DVD Software page at www.papajohn.org for more
information.
