    - Cannot Save To My Computer TOk, so I have made a video that is 10 min, 50 seconds long, and im trying to figure out why it won't let me save my video to ANYTHING. I want to save to my computer, it wont let me do that so ive tried everything besides saving to a disk. This is the steps i have taken, tell me if im wrong. 1. Save to My Computer 2. Save Video To My Videos 3.Movie Settings (Set to Large Quality) says file size may vary based on content of the saved movie. I have 103 GB disk space, the file is a WMV So I save to my computer, and this is what i get... "Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again." I have clicked Learn more about Saving Movies, but this is what i get... "There is not enough memory available for this task.     - Canon ZR930 with Movie Maker & XP? Hi, We have XP-SP2 & MM5.1 running on a Dell D630, and a brand new Canon ZR930, and can't seem to download the video to our computer. We have the correct cable. We can link with and control the camera. We are not able to view the video on our computer screen, but we can play; rewind; stop; pauseâ?¦ When we Start Capture, the camera will play the video, but the video captured continues to read 00:00:00 and the video file size remains 5kb. When we finish playing the portion of the video that the software should be capturing, we receive the following error: "The specified video device is not responding.     - Burning WMM movie to a disc I have recently made an extremely LONG project in WMM, the movie consists of about 6 possibly 7 hours of video files (in AVI format), some opening and closing credits, some photos and some music. As yet, I have not finalised the project into a Movie (as I know it will take a very long time to do) but once it finally is a movie, I would like to be able to burn the movie to disc without having to fit it on several discs (if that is at all possible!?). Or should I save it to my computer first as opposed to saving it straight to disc? I know definitely 7 hours of video in AVI format would easily take up more than 1 disc, but I just don't want to have about 4 discs of 1 movie (as the video footage is of a 4 day event, so don't really don't want it spread over more than 3 discs). Is there an option in WMM to finalise the movie to another format (like MPEG-2 to use less disks) without losing too much of the video quality?     - re-imported tape, now clips are off I re-imported a tape that had more video added to it. I deleted the original import and named the new import the old tape's name. I was assuming that since WMM will only import from the beginning of the tape that all the old clips should sync to the new import. Apparently they do not. They are off by two minutes for some reason. The project that has the old clips (when it is opened) has the correct picture of the original clip for about 10 seconds and then it is replaced with picture of the wrong clip. Why are my clips' times off if it is the same tape from the beginning? How is WMM seeing the correct clip preview for the fist few seconds of the project opening? I have two videos, each of 1 minute in length, and I want to produce an out video that is 1 minute long.     - Adding background music to my project Hi all, I need to make an instructional WMV video to show how to use a certain aspect of Windows. I used Media Encoder 9 to screen capture the procedure. I then edited the video in MM2.1 until all the "bloopers" were eliminated. After that I added audio by narrating the steps that the user must follow. I noticed that MM2.1 added the narration to the Audio/Music track. Finally I added a WAV music track to fill in holes at the beginning and end of the screen captured procedure. As a last step I would like to add background music to the narration at a very low volume to avoid being annoying, but I can't figure out how to do it. I used Google, but most of the results detail steps on how to add music or narration to the Audio/Music track, something that I already did, but so far I have not been able to find any info on how to add background music to the narration.     - JVC Editing in MOVIE MAKER I bought a nice JVC Camcorder. It makes .MOD files which have to be converted to MPG MWV or AVI to be edited in WMM. Ive read on here that WMM doesn't "like" or "work very well" with .MOD. What my goal is (and judging from some other online forums) is to convert the .MOD files WITH Windows Movie Maker. I was given a lead last week that Adobe Premeir Elements or ULEAD video Studios. I have several questions. 1). Ive found a product (and the free trial works nicely to convert) called AVS4YOU, Ive been able to convert it (although only to WMV which works in WMM) and the clip adds to my timeline. But just because I could get it on the Timeline and can edit as usual is this THE BEST Solution? 2)When you recommend using ADOBE Premeir Elements or ULEAD are you saying to use one of THOSE products as our FILM editors. My point being we wouldnt be using Windows Movie Maker to edit or projects? Sometimes the answers are ambiguious enough that I cant tell whether you are recommending using it to CONVERT the clips so they can be used in Windows MM, or that because of the JVC Enviro that Adobe Premeir Elements or ULEAD would be the BEST and most Hassle free way to edit our movies now. 3) Also, can those programs do everything (or more) that Windows MM can do? Point being, is there a tremendous learning curve for those of us that wont be using WMM for our JVC stuff? I hope thats everything, sorry for the length, but Ive encountered much in JVC< here and other similar forums of people asking about what to do about converting .MOD to a format so that WIndows Movie Maker can edit them. Most people (as myself ) are driven to the question, merely so we dont have to switch Movie Editing Programs, and because of my naivete' (I wont speak for others but it appears so).     - Movie Maker Error I have converted several flv files to wmv using a third-party program called WinFF. The converted files play fine in WMV, but I would like to edit them. I import the file in MM and can edit them. When I go to save the file, I get the following message about 40% through the saving movie file process: "Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location.     - After SP2, still have MM 2.0 I have windows xp sp 2 with all latest updates, but my Movie Maker is version 2.0.3312.0. I did a search for moviemk.exe which i believe is 2.1, but it is not on my hard drive.     - Help - PS3 & MM - poor quality Just used PS3 for the first time and find it's great. Here's my problem. I am making an 8 min or so movie for work. I started with PS3 using 81 photos while an mp3 is playing. The preview and saved file works perfectly. This is 4 mins of the 8 mins. I need. I then imported this wmv into MM to add other clips and pictures. Before I did any other additions, I saved this as a movie in MM to view it.     - Movie Maker lost the abiliy to capture in DV-AVI from a camcorder Windows Movie Maker has lost the ability to capture video from a DV camcorder in DV-AVI format. The DV-AVI selection is now grayed out and not available. It worked when last used about 1 month ago. Rebooting windows does not help. Windows automatic update is on.     - Problem getting error writing video file My son is trying to save a video to file and keeps getting an error that really doesn't make sense. This error occurs sometime even before it tries to write the files, and at other times, it writes the file 10% of the way, then gives the error. The error message indicates there are are 3 possible problems: 1. There is not enough disk space. 2. The source files are missing. 3. The destination where the file is being written to is no longer available. None of these 3 conditions are true. The hard drive has 44GB of space, and the size of the video file we are trying to save would be about 10MB. We have also tried writing the file to a SD card just to test this situation, but we get the same error. We are able to play the actual video through within Movie Maker itself, which I am assuming means that the source files are avialable. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue? 5.1 is your Windows Version...if you look
further down on that same screen you will see:
"Windows Movie Maker Version 2.1.4026.0"

That is the latest MM version for Windows XP.

I'm not aware of a free program that is
better that Movie maker.
