I have a wmv file that was an mov file that was shot in portrait mode
with the camera. I converted the MOV file to WMV and then tried to use
Movie Maker to make a movie, titles etc.

The problem is that Movie Maker does not seem to understand that the
movie is 480 x 640, portrait. Instead it creates a squashed version,
640 x 480.

I cannot seem to find out how to fix this. Anyone have a fix or
suggestions?

TIA.

Vista's Movie Maker would appropriately 'letterbox' it. You could run it
through that if you have access to a computer with it.

I'd save the distorted one in MM2.1 as a DV-AVI file and use VirtualDub to
crop/resize it to a new file.

Then I gather from your reply that MM just won't handle portrait style
movies at all. Oh well,,such is MS.....

Thanks,
