Well i have been using movie maker fine untill about a couple of weeks ago
when i went to go add some pictures and songs but it did not accept it so i
changed the format and it still did not work and ive reinstalled movie maker.
It does not except any picture format or any song format it wont take
anything and sometimes when i restart movie maker a picture will pop up like
i added it but then when i go to put it in the story board nothing happens.
Any help would be very helpfull

Have you installed/uninstalled any programmes or hardware?
Untick the filters in the compatibility tab
http://www.myvideoproblems.com/Tutorials/MovieMaker/HowDoIOpenCompatibilityTab.htm
Have you tried with the windows supplied wmv video file, does this work?

If you don't have the compatibility tab then you must be using MM2 and Sp1,
try upgrading your pc to SP2.

There is no Movie Maker 5.1...
that's your Windows version.

If you look a little lower you should
see the Movie Maker verison...
2.1.4026.0

Some users have reported problems
after installing IE7. If this applies to your
situation ...uninstalling IE7 may be worth
a try.

This reply
" no i have not installed or uninstalled anything "
is at odds with this reply
" I have service pack 2 my update is also turned on it auto downloads
everyday "

As you have downloaded something you may find using system restore to go
back to when it did work might help, but as you have also installed other
things now it may be that the system has been changed too much to work
properly.

Also, if you have SP2 and V2.1 of MM then it sounds like this is not propely
installed, as it will come with the compatibility tab, so check out the link
to Dean Rowe's page at the bottom of this one.
