I just added reference to version 2.1 on a couple pages of my website....
the new version is included in Windows Service Pack 2 and mentioned on a
couple Microsoft website pages.

So it's time to start talking about it. I don't have a link to download it
separately from the Service Pack. The current download link still gives you
version 2.0

Intersting... MM 2.1 includes a new Compatibility
tab under the Options menu:

<quote>

Filters

To increase compatibility with other video programs,
video filters installed by other video programs can
be disabled in Windows Movie Maker. These settings
do not affect other video programs that are installed
on your computer.

If you are experiencing problems with a specific
filter, clear that check box to disable it in
Windows Movie Maker.

The PC that I'm running SP2 on is pretty bare bones,
so the list of filters (i.e. CODECs) is empty.

Bob,

I guess your setup is pretty bare bones. On my laptop, there's 42 codecs
that appear in the Compatibility list.
